  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does age matter, and why??

It was definitely a factor for me. We didn’t have our 1st until I was 32 and I didn’t want just 1 child. Our 2nd was born when I was 35 and it’s amazing how different you’re treated once you cross that 35 year mark! I was treated like I was made of glass by doctors/nurses, etc. I thought it was a bit ridiculous considering I had her just 5 weeks after I turned 35! :swoon: I didn’t want to have another child right away after #2 was born, and I didn’t want to be much older than 35 having #3. So, even though I really wanted more children, we decided to stop at two. (I have to admit that I still get the “baby itch” from time to time!)
There’s really no right or wrong answer to this, it’s such a personal decision.

I could state why Mrs. Redguard wants to be done by 30, but it most likely goes against every "CF Christian Female Principle" that exists on this board. :D

To answer the OP... Does it matter? Yes. :)
Why? Not saying. :)

This is my response to the OP as well except changing the age to 35. Redguard, hope you don't mind me hopping on your bandwagon ;)

I don't mind.

Although, I should also mention that 30 was only the original plan.

Recent conversations have introduced the possibility of that moving up to 32.

This thread is actually very funny. Do you all realize how ME oriented most everything most everyone has said is? I want I want I want I want...

G-d is in charge. He gives you babies when HE decides not when YOU decide. Would I have chosen to have a baby at 48? That's a big no.

With all due respect, jgonz, I admire your convictions but I find your response here a little out of line. Why do you assume that because some posters have an idea of when they would like to be finished having children or that age is a factor to consider in birthing children that they do not believe God is in control? I hope you see what I am saying as I respect your beliefs as a parent and for the most part you express them in a very non-judgmental manner, so I don't want to create any offenses between us. God gave us a brain with the ability to reason for a purpose and that means that we are able to utilize it without taking Him out of the picture. Anything else could be comparing us to animals --- breed breed breed without any second thought to the matter. Sorry but I disagree with your implications here completely.

Maybe if you held the reasons you are claiming are a "me" mentality it would be equated to you not trusting in God in your life but what applies to your life and your walk should not apply to another person's life and another person's walk.
