Does a GLOBAL FLOOD truly seem like the BEST explanation for seashells on mountains?

I don't invent "thousands of miracles to cover a supposed event," chief.

The Bible says it -- that settles it.

If you guys think it would be "thousands of miracles," then I'll call your bluff and challenge you to name one-tenth of [I'll make this easier for you] one thousand miracles that are required to interpret a global Flood.

(And please hurry up with your answer ... I'm 58 years old.)

Even hundreds would take to long to list. I suppose you would consider it cheating if I listed each genetic bottleneck that species have recovered from species by species. That would be millions, so what the heck call it one. Nope, better call it two, one for man and one for all of the other animals since creationists think that mankind is special somehow.

Here are a few others. Miraculous formation of ice at the poles, miraculous deposition of varved beds. Miraculous formation of the Haymond beds in Texas, miraculous formation of the chalks, miraculous plate tectonics, miraculous formation of varves, miraculous evolution of species after the flood.

The list goes on and on and on. Every time that a creationist runs into trouble they claim it was a miracle of some sort or other. Oops, some more, miraculous formation of fossil corrals that would take many millions of years to build up, miraculous formation of evaporites in the middle of a flood, miraculous deposition of eolian sediments in the middle of a flood.

Almost any normal geologic process would have to be replaced by a miracle if the flood story were true.

A species history can often be read in its genes. No evidence for a recent extreme bottleneck for all animals means there was no flood.
What was saved was the domesticated plants and animals back at the beginning. The world that God created in Chapter 2 of Genesis, not ch 1. There are actually very few specialists on that subject but I can come up with four or five of them that know the plant and animals species that are native to the middle east.

Then keep looking.

Scientists have looked. They aren't there. So it is now your turn, or at least creationists turn to explain this. We have provided evidence for our claims, you have not provided any for yours.

Even a little evidence beats no evidence. And we have a lot more than a little.

AV, when it comes to debates and evidence, without evidence you lose.

Suit yourself then.

You don't believe in miracles -- I do.

I don't blame you for pouting about it.

Just about every area in the world has some species that are native to that area only. So finding a few species that are found only in the Middle East does nothing to support the flood myth.

And it seems you have your own version of a flood myth. A local flood is at least possible. Rather pointless, but nonetheless possible.

I am not pouting, I am simply pointing out that you have to believe in thousands of miracles. You have no evidence that supports this and all sorts of evidence against it. So it seems that you also either believe in a lying god or a rather weak one that allows his adversary to create evidence and have actual control over his creation.

The rocks tell us that the Earth is old. Did your god lie or did he allow Satan to change the Earth? The genome of all sorts of animals says there was no flood. Did your god lie or did he allow Satan to change the genes of all of the animals on the surface of the Earth?

This is not a false dichotomy. There are too many of these problems for you not to say either the devil did it or your version of god lies.

Since AV has expressed no interest in learning the real facts regarding the Challenger disaster and instead will continue his cruel, ghoulish grave dancing on something he doesn't understand he should either stop talking about/referring to it or expose himself for the unfeeling, ignorant monster he appears to be when making light of the deaths of seven people.
I'm not interested in after-the-fact, behind-closed-doors rhetoric.

I saw all I need to see on TV.

No. And if it claims "Hebrew people" exist today, then it belongs in the fiction section
.
Paul wrote to the Hebrews (descendants of Eber) a mere 2000 years ago. Why wouldn't some of these exist today?

How about trying to address the actual problem of genetic bottlenecks instead of changing the subject?

This article points out the unsettled nature of the study of genetic bottlenecks. What are we to conclude?
