  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does a?, do, cells have a consciousness...?

I'll take that as a 'no' then. So we're talking about nothing and have nothing to talk about... [/thread]
Nothing that can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, but were headed there... The day we have irrefutable solid proof will be on the day of judgment, and those not having exercised faith prior to then, will be judged accordingly...

There are many theories that are getting close to proof right now, but still require some faith at the moment...

You probably accept and take a leap of faith on many other theories, about many things, just not so with anything having to do with or about or the possibility of a God right?

God Bless!

It is odd to me that we have no problem in accepting that an immaterial, unobservable, spiritual entity that we call God has existed for all eternity. On the other hand we think that a real, observable universe has to have been created. Why? This makes no sense to me at all. I have no problem with a universe that has existed in one form or another for eternity
I'm not saying that some or even most of evolutionary theory is true, but, there are holes in it, and it can't explain everything... This kind of reality is not all there is... Do you think other people like us were before us in or on other earth-like planets in this universe?

This universe clearly has been designed or engineered by an intelligence, the universe has a consciousness behind it...

God Bless!

Never mind proof, that's a mug's game - just find some evidence, any evidence.

There are many theories that are getting close to proof right now, but still require some faith at the moment...
That's not how science works. No proofs, and no faith.

You probably accept and take a leap of faith on many other theories, about many things, just not so with anything having to do with or about or the possibility of a God right?
No, not really. I provisionally accept various theories as the best available explanations or models according to my knowledge of the subject or the expert consensus, but I try to avoid 'leaps of faith'.

Eternity as a perception of time bound created creatures may be a skewed concept.

What do you mean by 'evolutionary theory' here? The common usage (the theory of evolution by natural selection) is only intended to explain the diversity of life on Earth.

Do you think other people like us were before us in or on other earth-like planets in this universe?
It's possible - there's no reason to assume we're the first intelligent entities in the universe, although there are constraints on the time required to generate the elements and the conditions to support life as we know it.

It seems unlikely they would be visually like us; our bilateral, tetrapodal body plans depend on some fairly arbitrary developments in the earliest forms of multicellular life.

This universe clearly has been designed or engineered by an intelligence, the universe has a consciousness behind it...
Unsubstantiated assertion.

I find it interesting that: How did those people back then, have or come up with such an accurate at the very least "order" of how life came about, that actually agree's with evolution, all by themselves, unless they had help? How could they have known?

God Bless!
