Yes. When I play GTA, I beat people with a baseball bat and run them over with my car because that's what Jesus would do! LOL!! Just kidding. But seriously, its just a game to me. I don't take any of it seriously. It's entertainment to me. I'm not one of those overly serious gamers. I just play occasionally for fun.

well in mmorpgs i would be too nice, i would be rich (i play the economy); and just give it all to my friends. Oh, people think 100K is a lot? well giving 600k to a friend just cause he was broke is ridiculous. Especially since i dont ask for them to pay me back. i do count that into my faith thing, i just like being nice whenever i can.

but as far as npcs and storys go.... i will just be random. good or bad, i will do whatever i want. whether its sleeping in their bed or eating all the food in their fridge. Maybe even lighting them on fire, idk.

No. Unless the game is solely made with some kind of vendetta attached to it, like killing minorities just for the sake of killing minorities, or religious figures, or homosexuals, etc. Then again, I don't waste my time with such bunk.

Really, there was only one type of game that made me feel a little iffy and that game would be Manhunt.

Sort of. It doesn't influence me a lot, but I know that I get really squeamish at violent stuff, so I tend to stay away from that. If a game feels wrong, then I don't play it, either.

For the most part, I also stick to playing good-aligned characters, though that is probably because I wouldn't be able to convincingly portray someone who is evil.

Its actually a complex question. Because it really varies. A good example is would you play a game about making pentagrams so you can practice witch craft on people you capture and hold hostage?

See. Depening on what your doing, it can make a difference! I have played my share of games that come close to that example. But I usually try to avoid them if they feel to demonic to me. Even though video games are fake, I think sometimes we make excuses to do what we do in them! I'm guilty of that too lol. In the game Army Of Two I'd shoot the hostages I should have saved or just throw a granade into the enemies who had hostages.

You have to be careful though because doing what you want in games can sometimes begin to grow on and warp you even if a little bit. A friend of mine loved playing any gorey game he could, but then he started looking up real life videos of people being murdered, ran over....etc. Now he looks at that more then he does playing games! It may not be a sin technically to play games. But they open up all sorts of temptations that we may not even realize are tempting us.

I was with a woman who played games even more then I did. She obssesed over things like Achievements (360). After we split I really stopped playing games. SHe was always saying she was better christian then me.

It made me realize, she says that as she does nothing but play games all day. Where is her time to serve the lord? Go to church? ANything really?!? So I felt like gaming was wasting alot of my time that could be use for God.

I still play games. I have 375+ hours in gameplay for Skyrim. But now I spend more tiem focusing on my relationship with my soon to be wife and on things like how to improve my life for God.

Yes, my faith definitely affects how I play games. I usually take the most peaceful route possible, unless the enemies I'm defeating either don't actually die (Pokemon) or the enemies are demonic (Okami). If who I have to fight doesn't fit one of those two categories, and if I have the option, I'd rather dodge enemies than kill them.

No, why would I? It's a game. It will have no basis or effect on real life and gives me the opportunity to do things in a game that I would otherwise not do in real life.

Exactly this. A game is harmless and involves no negative forces.

I play World of Warcraft, a good number of handful of Christians I know play Warlocks (demon summoners) and Shadow Priests (a priest which uses dark magic, diseases, and the like).

Unless you are easily influenced like say, lighting someone on fire to pretend it's a fireball, then you are fine.

There really needs to be a somewhat button on here.

Anyways, It influences on what games I play more than how I play them. But my answer is yes. On games I will not have anything to do with demons or summoning them. (Though I don't think on skyrim that daedra are demons but just evil and/or like to mess with people) So, on my short two months of WoW I never tried warlock.

Not really I must confess, but I like to play as something "imperial" and/or religiously fanatical, preferably some character or organization with dirt on their hands and not to goody-good. I have fantastic memories of my experiences roleplaying a scarlet crusade warlock in WoW and summoning a certain demons to entertain corrupt members of the organization. Not sure if this has anything to do with my religion, though.
