  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do Your Actions Speaks Louder then your knowledge?

”Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

Keeping or not keeping commandments has nothing to do with if you are in the kingdom or not.
So if you say that you know God, but you don’t keep his commandments, lets see what the Lord had specially written for you. It says in (1John 2:3-4) (v.3) And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. (v.4) he that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Then the book says in Revelation 21: 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

These are hard words coming from the word of God, I would take heed and start keeping these Commandments. But of course it's your choice.

Nothing but legalism here. No grace and salvation by the works of the law.
Revelation 20: 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Then who can be saved?

o
Those who abide in Him and He in them. John15:4-10 1 John2:3-6

Sadly many people believe the devil has more power to keep us in sin than Jesus does to save us from our sins Mat1:21, I happen to believe we can overcome through our love of Jesus John14:15-18 Rev14:12 , the book of Revelations repeats this over and over again before His revelation, He has a people who overcomes. I think the bigger issue, is most people like their sins more than their love for Jesus to seek His help in forsaking their sins. Mat 4:17 John3:19-21 Pro28:13 1 John5:14

There you go. This is how our works will be judged.

“According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it. For no one can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, each one’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each one’s work. If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet only so as through fire.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬-‭15‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Salvation is by the grace of God through faith apart from works so we can’t boast (Eph. 2).

Salvation by works. No one can be saved then.

Thanks! I am abiding in Him thanks to His grace and mercy alone and none of my own merit or works.

Well, I guess that leaves Rahab out.

Revelation 14:13

And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them!”

Revelation 12:11

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 13:16,15

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Revelation 20:4

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them, and the souls of those having been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not take the mark upon the forehead, and upon their hand. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Revelation 3:21

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

The next verse begs to differ Mat5:20. The Pharisees were keeping their man-made traditions over obeying the commandments of God (Jesus quoting from the Ten Commandments) and Jesus in His own words said it made the word of God of no effect by keeping their traditions over obedience to God's commandments Mat15:3-14 Mark7:7-13, if our righteousness does not surpass theirs we will be no means enter into the Kingdom of heaven hence the warning in Mat5:19

Weren’t Pharisees the ones accusing him of working on the Sabbath.

Not only that, but Jesus healed the man with the withered hand on the Sabbath, in addition to His disciples reaping grain on the Sabbath. Moreover, Jesus forgave the paralytic man of sin. What kind of example did Jesus set for Sabbath activities?
