Do you want to live in a Christian Theocracy?

I believe living in an American Christian Theocracy would be

  • Great, bring it on.

  • Only if it was run by my denomination, or one like it.

  • Only if it was a very general consensus and constrained by courts

  • Awful - my beliefs are just that, my beliefs I don't want to impose them on others.

Of course not. No totalitarian regime is scary for the people who are in power. It's all the people who aren't in power that are terrified.
And if you like the word "rubbish", you could definately apply it to this comment. How ABSURD! And so completely sad. I am not in power, nor will I ever be. And yet, I'm still not scared. I guess living a holy life as G~d would have me, just isn't frightening to me. Don't worry though, I know that's a scary thought to many out there. You're not alone.

Yes, being forced by someone with power to do as the power-holder wants is scary to many. Go figure.

From you little icons it seems you might live in Israel. Tecnically there, you are in power, or more accurately, the group that you are a part of is in power. Its easy to say it's absurd when it doesn't affect you. How do they feel about Muslims there?

For that matter, how do some of the neighboring countries feel about Jews?

I believe that if the USA became a Christian Theocracy, it would be ruled by the patriarchs, and the laws would be back in the days of Abraham and Moses. There would be widespread bloodshed of people of other religions, non-virgin single women, people working on the Sabbath etc etc etc. Women would be instantly devalued to the status of cattle and be "owned" by their husbands. They would have no control over their bodies if their husband wants to rape them, and be forced to marry if they are raped by some ugly low-life (great way to get the cream of the crop!!!).

I, for one, would have my family torn apart, because I am divorced and remarried. They would not see my marriage as valid. Who knows, I may be stoned to death for being an "adulterer".

I think it would be a theo-facist society. There would be no compassion. Just cold hard laws.
