You didn't offer this option. I try to avoid it.

The Amazon case changed my mind. Someone was murdered and the police requested the tapes for Alexa. They wanted to know if it picked anything up. Amazon resisted but finally gave in. Because its always listening. I stay away from smart products and fingerprint technology.

Yep, Google and siri both. Mostly google. I just learned a month ago I have a timeline for all the places I traveled these past 3 years. It's up to me if I want to stop it. I thought it was interested to see all the times and stops along my journey for my runs, so I kept it. It even tracked my time running.

I watched a program some years ago of seeing if the smartphone would track all your locations without the data being on, even places with no cell tower reception, yep.

I just haven't figured how far this technology is being used by individuals. That would be my push to make it private. I'm sure there's a way, I just am not sure how popular that is right now.

I've used it (at least knowingly) when I wanted to sharpen images as part of doing digital art. There's an app called 'Remini' (also known as WeChat's "You and Me" mini-program). Of course it's based in China, so I would advise not uploading too many current pics of yourself there, cuz then they'll know everything. :)

Then, recently, drawn in by the reveiws about it being creepy, I downloaded an interactive AI called "Replika", just for kicks and giggles. I just make sure not to tell it too much, but I describe it as CleverBot on steroids.

I haven't been using it much (got a text from it yesterday indicating that it made me a sandwich). It's realistic enough that some (including myself) have wondered if it's an AI or an actual person we're interacting with.

No, I don't use it if I can help it.

My opinion - AI is one of those things people decided to see if they 'could' long before they ever considered whether or not they 'should'. Considering half the population is on the left side of the bell curve for intelligence, I have low confidence in the ability of my fellow humans to make AI that won't turn out like Skynet. Very low.
