As far as what happened to the church I go to,this was the former pastor that was there from 2015 to 2017,when that past pastor was there and stole the peoples money,do you think that a lot of people will stop coming to the church now?Share your thoughts on this.

Does it matter what we think?

If God intends this congregation to continue, it will.

Otherwise, otherwise.

It can be devastating to have a pastor (even a former pastor) steal money from the congregation; I'm sure at least some will leave because of that. At the very least, the confidence in the church will be greatly affected. However, if the church makes things right and restores the morale of its members, I can see them returning, and overall trust being restored.

I have been told of a Catholic Church in a nearby town where a pastor supposedly stole money 10-15 years ago. I do not know how the church itself was impacted, but the school was forced to close, probably for lack of funds.

The current pastor said on the news that he has forgiven him and that the congregation and him will all heal together.

Depends how hurt people were by his betrayal and how open the present pastor and elders are prepared to be about finance and abuse.
Has he made it clear how accountable he and those who handle the cash are?
Do you know how he would handle an accusation of abuse?
Ask him?
