I think God gave us our pets as special gifts from Him for us to enjoy here on earth. I accidentaly stepped on my little mouse Timothy, and killed him. I wept over his little broken body as I held him in my hands, and I told him how sorry I was. He was so cute and smart. I prayed to God to let his little soul go to heaven. So I may see him up there one day. All animals have a soul, but I don't think they have a spirit. I do believe that God communicates to each animal in their own unique way of understanding, as he told the lions not to harm Daniel in the lions den, and telling each kind of animal to come to the ark. I truely believe the birds are singing to God each morning to thank Him for a new day. I think that the animals that serve mankind and have emotions like we do, namely dogs and cats, even horses, will be in heaven. The Bible says Jesus will return on a white horse, so there must be horses up there, and in the new heaven and earth, the lion shall lay down with the lamb. All the animals will be tame for us to enjoy. Just alot of things for you to think about.Hope all this helped. Please reply to these thoughts. Oh yeah, who is John Edwards, anyway. I've never heard of him either, but then I live all the way down in Lord Of The Rings country,in other words, New Zealand!!

It seems clear to me that while humankind were separated from God at some point, animals never were. So I trust that my pets are going to heaven. My little dog Pebbles is already there, I believe.

I was spending quality time with one of my dogs today - he'd just decided, apparently, to follow me around wagging his tale, for no other reason than that he loves me. Is that true love, or what? I thought, animals are an awesome part of God's love. I'm convinced He was showing me that, then, through my Chester :)

I believe that there is a good possibilty that animals will be in heaven. I had a little mouse named Timothy and he ran out from under my fridge when I was calling him and he went right under my knee and I accidently stepped on him. I picked him up and wept over him as he died in my hands. I told him how sorry I was and I prayed that God would take his soul to heaven. I think every animal has a unique way that God communicates with them. God told the lions to not harm Daniel in the lions den. He also told the animals to come to the ark, and not harm Noah and his family. Animals have souls because that is the part of us that think and feel. Dogs and cats especially, have the ability to love us and each other, to serve us and protect us. I think God rewards the animals who are so faithful to us by giving them eternal life. That's just my opinion. I believe the birds sing to the Lord every morning to thank him for a new day. that's so cool!!:D Hope some of this gives you something to think about. If anyone agrees with me, let me know.
Bye for now.

Amen! They do know God, in their own way, obey Him and communicate with Him (one of the psalms, I believe, mentions lions asking God for their food).

God cares for animals, especially those we love and care for. My own kitty was healed after almost 2 years of prayer, when no treatment worked.

So yes, I believe they do go to heaven!

I know for a fact that pets go to heaven. My husband had to have his little dog put a number of years ago. 'Baby Dog' loved his master so much he would not die on his own. He was 20 yrs. old and he started bleeding out the back side. My husband said he couldn't stand to see his dog bleed to death so he had him put to sleep.

About 1 1/2yrs. later we had a fire in our apartment and there was no smoke detector. The only thing that could have ever made my husband rise up out of that bed, this side of heaven, showed up. My husband said that 'Baby Dog's bark was the only thing he heard that he ever would have tried to resond to, being that he was so weak in his dream. He said that when he finally did muster up enough strength to rise physically up, that he saw Baby Dog going around in circles at the side of the bed and still barking hysterically. My husband shouted out at him; "What are you barking at!" Then he realized just how weak he was and that he could not breathe, and that there was an orange glow around the closed bedroom door.

Baby Dog had to cross over to save his master!

My pups are going to heaven, and the dogs I've had in the past are in heaven. They aren't animals to me; they're other people. I never refer to a dog as "it;" I always refer to a dog as he or she. They are other people with souls, personalities, emotions, and intelligence. I know they live much shorter lives than we do, and so Jasmine and Mitzi will pass on long before I do, but when I get there, they'll be waiting for me with the rest of my family.

I would like to know if dogs even have souls or not.
I can't believe that was even said!!

Jesus loves His animals. Look at how many different ones he made!! Remember the ark? Why would God seperate us from our loved ones? or leave any animal out of paradise? They'll definately be in heaven.

This is why its selfish. You hope for your own pet ends up there. but if they do, then all the pests that you extirminated will be waiting for your entry, if you make it, too.
In each case I say, if God has a use for them in heaven, then yes, they'll be in heaven.

Animals are a higher life form than insects, or arachnids. The animals have a consciousness of emotions that the bugs don't. We assume from the tiny size and limited ability of bugs that they don't have consciousness at all. Most of their use is in ridding the world of rotting material. In heaven their will be no death and therefore no rotting material for them to get rid of. God's magnificence is too great for me to try to imagine what heaven will be like, but I definitely agree that our pets go to heaven!
