What is the point?
Have no reason to think John's vision has Mary as either.
The point of using this verse is that it has beings in Heaven, both human and angels, which are depicted with prayers of those not in Heaven yet.

I would not have been surprised if someone came up with a dogma that there are 28 beings in Heaven (4 beasts and 24 elders) that can accept the prayers of the saints...

But if that verse only shows 4 beasts and 24 elders with prayers of the saints, then what is the basis to think that anyone besides them has prayers of the saints?

(The Bible seems pretty specific that there are 28 beings performing that duty.)

P.S. I assume that you think the word "saints" in that verse is referring to Christians on earth, correct?

So there was no point other than goading to ask about Mary. Ok fine. Wonder how the Son would feel about using His Mother to goad others? Can we twist that behavior to somehow being scriptural?

If the vision had shown only 1 "beast" and 2 "elders" it would still be a representation of beings in Heaven interceding on behalf of people/saints living here. Why should we then think that behaviour limited to only those three when the entire Body is called to pray for one another?

In most Christian thought a saint would be any member of the Body; the same people called in the Bible to pray for one another; the same Body the saints in Heaven, called Saints to distinguish, would be a part of; and because they are a part of the Body the same Saints are still under the charge to pray for us still living here.

Since Christians on earth and those in Heaven are united, and since we talk to our loved ones on earth...

Do you talk to your loved ones in Heaven?

And if so, do they talk back to you?

I have heard different answers from Catholics on this and would like to know what each of you believe.

.

Yes, on occasion.

Never asked them to, thus the second question in my case is mute.

Since my Dad died four years ago I had many talks with him and I miss him every day. I know he has help me many times in my wheelchair and the last time I talked to him is the only time I heard his voice tell me that God will take care of me and he must go.

Interesting. You believe that people in Heaven could talk to you if you just asked them, but you don't ask them.

It would seem that you must not actually think they can speak to you, or I think you would converse with them.
