  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

well this is not that long ago but we went out to eat in a very nice restuarant a few years back with our daughters and husbands and when we got there , it was a 60 mile trip I had to hit the restroom and one of my daughters went on before me. well when I came out of the restroom the his and her's were facing each other and when I opened up the door and stepped out the door of the other restroom opened with I thought was the men's . and out stepped my daughter . we just looked at each other in a dumb freeze like state, we both thought what is the matter with her. Why was my daughter using the mens room but the joke was on me it was me who was using the mens room. the restaurant was packed. luckily I did not see a man in there. ( that I don't understand to this day)

Too Funny. Once I worked at the community college and my office faced the hallway. I looked up one day to see a courteous young man escort an older lady out of the men's room and to the ladies room.

We did get a chuckle but admired the galant behavior of the young man.

When I was in France in 87 our tour bus stopped at a hotel for a rest stop and we all had a long trip and had to use the restroom. The tour bus driver pointed to some doors and said to use the facilities. Both men and women had to use the same lavatory with no doors on the stalls. Made us kind of nervous. But when you gotta go ya gotta go.

Well let me tell you about restrooms!!! Our WalMart here is not that old and is already having trouble with their restrooms. You don't get locked out you get locked in. It is a one stall room (one room) when you get inside you can't get out. It happened to me twice--second time I thought they had it fixed!!! Dummy me

I was at a barbeque at a friends home. Went to the necessary room but could not get the door open to get out. I kept trying but the door would not open. I could see light all around the door as though it was actually ajar but the door would not open. I then thought some one was playing a trick on me outside the door.... then all at once the door swung open.

I told the hostess that someone had played a trick on me and would like to return the favor...good naturedly of course. She said, oh, that was only Howard.

I said "Howard? Howard who?" She said our live-in ghost.

He likes to play tricks on people..... she was serious!!!

I remember when I was about six or so we rented a cabin on a lake which we called the "camp". And we had an outhouse. Once I got the door stuck and couldn't get it unstuck probably because I was too little to force it. And so when I went out there in the dark of night I had to yell out for :help: :sigh: . This happened more than once, but only once at night. That was scary although I had a flashlight with me. Embarrassing but someone always came to my rescue.

I remember being angry with my older sister and trying to get her enrolled in a convent. She got a reply saying she had to be Catholic and have her parents permission...LOL, I was off to boarding school by then, but she still remembers and reminds me when we meet.

Cheers,

Jim
I remeber when I first became a Catholic...I wanted to be a nun...Got married for almost 27 years and after he went "Home"...I thought I'd try again....God sent me another husband....almost 15 years now...I don't think I want to be a nun anymore....;)

A lot of treasures have been found in those outhouses. When people go digging for history, that is one of the first places they dig up.

Cheers,

Jim
I can't imagine what sort of treasure I would find in an outhouse. Any suggestions Jim?

Growing up Catholic I also wanted to be a "Sister" back in the days when they were all wearing habits. I even applied and bought some white towels, a missal, and an umbrella which were a few of the things I was told to bring with me; but changed my mind and eventually married. Been married 45 years...I think it was a good choice although his sister is a nun. She is 79 and still working, but seems to flourish. She's been one sixty years now.

That's awesome...My 14 yearold granddaughter is displaying some of the same desires...
She's reading Mother Angelica's bio for a school assignment and she's going to ask one of the nuns at her school if she can borrow a habit...she gets extra points if she dresses up like the person she's reading about...;) She is the nicest young lady ...not because she's mine...she is just very "special" to everyone...:crossrc:

Tatyanna isn't it great when we can brag about our GK and tell the really good things these young people have done??
My GS(10) finally confessed something he had done a while back and confessed it to the people who needed to hear it and apologized to me because he knew it was hurting me. We all knew what he had done and I prayed that he would become convicted about it and Yes PTL he did and everything worked out fine. But it is so nice to be able to tell about the good things they do because so many of the young people seem to be making the wrong choices now a days.

 Yes indeed it is...I have a 10 year old grandson too!
I remember when I thought twice about doing anything wrong because people might think that I had a bad mother and father who didn't teach me how to be good... :sigh: ...Now I try because I don't want to offend God...:holy:
