  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My girlfriend had a 1940's (in the 50's) Kaiser she called "Lizzie". Does anyone remember Kaisers? They haven't been around for years and years. Later she had a Ford Econoline she called "Jaws". Jaws was a very good car lasting her for years and years.

We had a Jeep Cherokee...in 1974...we called "God's Chariot". It got me to bible studies on country roads in Alaska...through snow and all kinds of conditions...indeed, a gift from above. Later we owned a travel trailer we used to tow SW and spent months in...called "God's Treasure." and it truly was another gift from above. Presently we own a 1991 Econoline Imperial Ford which we call the "Red Robin" because it is truly a shade of red. It looks better than "Jaws" did though. :D :D :D

My first car was a blue, 4 door 510 Datsun. The interesting thing was, I was going with my future wife and her Dad, my future father-in-law, "signed" for it as I had no credit at that point. Well, for me that was as good as asking for her hand in marriage...! Wow.

When we could but canister vacuums made of steel(not plastic) instead of uprights. I really don't like the uprights with all the attachments sticking out here and there and everything made of plastic.

I remember when my mother got an electrolux. We really thought that was special since it wasn't an upright.

I remember when I was about 3-6 we lived in a farm house rented from the farmer in Southern Ontario. Dad was in the airforce but we had to live off base. We had a wood burning fireplace and a cold water pump at the sink. The Out-house of course was the order for all but me.( I was special) and I even think I got to bathe in the metal tub first. I remember our cat could jump up on my parents bed catch the light string and turn on the light at night when it needed to go out. I remember enjoying all the farm animals the sheep especially but NOT the geese. I remember being part of the school community even before starting sschool, invited to all the parties and productions. It was a one room school house and when I did start I walked with my brothers and sister two miles there and two miles back home each day along the country road. I also remember it being very cold and that icicles formed inside the window of our upstairs bedroom. Brrr

I especially remember the Baptist Church we attended and the warm fellowship I felt there. I felt very loved and cared for there. I still have the crochet soap turtle and egg warmers made for me by a very wonderful lady. gg

I remember the Baptist Church from the time I was 3 or 4 just starting Sunday School...my favorite song was
"Sunday School is over and we are going home...Good bye...Good...bye... I had separation anxiety...:sigh:
I do remember the first song I learned there : Jesus Loves me....

Wow that is neat. I really attended a Baptist Church pretty much my whole life except for a short time when we went to a nondenominational protestant Air force chapel on our air base and also went to a Nazarene church in town from time to time. (my grandpa was a retired pastor there). I even went to a lay leadership school for a year that was Baptist. I guess I didn't really change until just after my first son was born. gg
