McGruff the Crime Dog, and the "Don't Use Drugs" ad.

Woodsey Owl's "Give a Hoot, Don't Pollute".
Yeah! And how about this:
"How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? One...two...three. *CRUNCH* Three!!"

Does anyone remember those bootie-type socks that had the little "pompons" on the backs of them?

Oh my gosh!...I still have some of those! My mother has some too. She thought they were so cute.

I still remember the fad with those plastic head bands that had springs on them with various objects on top of the springs (dice, feathers, glittery stars or balls). they looked like antannae coming out of your head. We had spirit dress up days at my middle school back in the early to mid 80's and we had one day where everybody could wear those things to school. Even some of the teachers wore them!

Does anybody remember those? I don't remember what they are called.

NBC cartoon the Smurfs
Very cute indeed!

Yep! Certainly do!

Interesting bit of trivia: I used to think the Smurfs was strictly an '80s thing -- but NO. Peyo (Pierre Culliford) created these characters in 1958 for Belgian comic books. Yes, 1958! Almost 50 years ago!
