From what was said above it would make sense if total seperation from God ment non-existance since if God keeps all things in existance and is the foundation of reality then without God there is nothing.

Still I hope for everyone to be saved eventually.

Its hard because pain, seperation and universal salvation could all be understood from the Bible.

What do you mean by being saved then?

If you are born again in Christ then you will also be raised with Christ into eternal life.

I believe in hell ;D

Thats all very nice but its a bit hard to focus on the gift of salvation when your friends and family are being threatened with eternal damnation by the same God who is offering salvation.

I agree, appeal to fear and appeal to authority (both of which are logical fallacies) are two of the most powerful tools organized religion has.

I believe that Hell is a place of eternal separation from God..whether or not there is fire and brimstone...I have no idea...and I don't want to know..I am not going there when it is my time.

yeah, i get you =p.

whether or not there is literal burning in hell, i think hell will be a place of eternal suffering. if we are to believe that God still is with us in this world, then some good must be here as well. Hell lacks any good in it. It is complete and utter separation from God. Imagine living here on Earth without any good in it....what would you call your life then? If there was no love, if you couldn't find joy in even the simplest of things.

What would you call it?

Probably a living hell.

Just to be clear Hell isn't separation from God. It's separation from His love and His grace and His kindness but it isn't separation from Him. The worst part about Hell is that God is present there and His eternal wrath and anger are there.

You shouldn't find it funny...you should take it as the serious and sad issue it is. Out of those 1.3 billion Christians...most of them don't take it seriously, at least not in America. We are all called by Christ to be like him...to be ministers to the world. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."...straight from Matthew 19-20...The Great Commission.
