  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I really like Pokemon for certain reasons.

While this may sound absolutly bonkers to some, Pokemon sometimes actually helps me feel confident in myself.

See when I was younger, about 12 or 13 or so when I started getting into the show, I didn't think too much of it. Until the second movie came out, I forget what it's called but it's when Ash is destined the chosen one to help calm the legendary birds and return right to the world.

When I saw that movie for the first time, it was like my mind opened up or something. I think I was like 14 at the time, or 15, but when I first saw that movie, I wanted to be like Ash. I wanted to do something great for the world too.

Now obviously I'll never be able to "save the world" so to speak, but I will be able to do something someday. I think God has something planned for me, because I always dream of doing something great for either someone or something. Basically, I wanted to make a difference in something in a way like Ash did.

So watching Pokemon sometimes, especially that movie, makes me feel more confident and strong in myself in order to do something to help make a difference. It helps me to believe in myself more too. Basically, Pokemon for me is like a pick-me-up. If I'm doubting myself that I'll ever be worth something, sometimes watching it makes me feel better and more confident in myself.

That's why I'm really into Pokemon. Being 19, people make fun of me for likeing the show still, but it's after I tell them the real reason why that sometimes they change their minds. :)

I know my reason behind it does seem a little strange to some people. But it's nothing bad. :) Pokemon just has a really good influence on me. In fact it once influenced me to try writing a story about Pokemon and Christianity. Long story, but I'm actually thinking of starting that again.. That is if I can actually find my work.

So that's my reasons behind it. :)

I hate the Pokemon TV show and other merchandise. The TV show is like or less the same thing over and over again (Team Rocket blasts off YET AGAIN!!!). The storylines suck as well.

The games for the Game Boy were awesome! They were so addictive and long. Classic games!

I'm not gonna lie, back when I was 12 and 13 I liked Pokemon. I use to collect the cards and everything. Once I lost all my cards I stop watching Pokemon, because I was so upset that I had lost my cards. Now that I'm 17, and I don't look at it because I see that its very childish now. What I mean to say is that its for the viewers of like 3-13, and not someone as old as me. Though I do not have a problem with Pokemon. If one day I find my cards I might even start watching it again.

it came out when i was about 6 and i loved it then but after a year or so it just got really, REALLY lame. so i hate it know. also just step back and think about the show for a second: there are these animals called pokemon that people want to 'catch', then people put them into itty bitty balls where they have no food, water, light, friends, or anythying else(so really it's worse then a cage), then when they finally come out of there 'cages' they are force to fight until one of them is nearly dead. then they have to do it all over again. animal cruelty.
