Do you know how many justify their own sin, but saying that Paul sinned, more than them all! Those sins were before he was a Christian, when he actually killed Christians, but there are those who like to going fishing in God's lake of forgetfulness. They better watch out or God may make them eat the fist they catch there!

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, training us in order that, denying impiety and worldly desires, we may live self-controlled and righteously and godly in the present age..."

No one here has "justified" any sin. We have directed where we are to go when we do sin.

Read those two verses in post #94.

These verses:

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:" ~I John 2:1

"the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." ~Matt 26:41

Sin causes so much heartache. I often wonder what my life could have been like if I had just waited. That sorrow keeps me on the very straight and narrow; but I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. Why? Because His seed is in me.

So why do you continue in sin? I told you my story. Or do you just say that, somehow thinking it makes you appear humble.

I found something interesting in Romans 6. Even though when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are dead to sin, we must keep reminding ourselves of that truth. Why? It is so you don't buy into the lie of the devil, that says, "Did God really say that"? "Go ahead and sin; your present and future sins are also forgiven, because they were all 'future' when Christ died." Oh, really? Where is that found?

Peter makes reference to the fact that it was our old sins that were forgiven in 2 Peter 1:9.

As far as I can tell, you are suggesting that the last time you sinned was in the late 1980s.

Since that time, are you saying that you have perfectly loved God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and perfectly loved your neighbor as yourself?

Since that time are you saying that you’ve been perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect?

Since that time have you had no idolatry or false worship in the heart and have relied and depended upon God alone for all things?

Since that time has your heart been free of all sinful anger?

Since that time have you perfectly forgiven all those who sin against you and never desired to take vengeance upon them?

Since that time has your heart been free from all covetousness?

Since that time have you had perfect zeal in your heart for the things of God at all times?

Since that time have you never once been resentful, boastful, or insisted upon your own way?

Since that time have you been perfectly devoted to the Lord?

Since that time have you glorified God in everything that you do?

And yes, our flesh IS weak. THAT is why we need to put on the full armor of God and be armed with His Sword, which is God's Word.

As it is written, the enemy prowls around seeking whom he may devour.

It is GOD Who strengthens us.

Not "us".

AS it is written, we can do NOTHING in our own strength.

You see, 1 John 1:7 is someone who is walking in the light, and yet at the end it still says the blood of Jesus cleanses them of all sin. So what type of sin can we sin commit while we are walking in the Spirit?

1 John 5:16-17
16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. 17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.

I'm aware of what willful sinning is. I asked you if, when you sinned, you were a "Christian"/saved when you sinned willfully?

Peter slept instead of praying with Lord, Peter denied because of cowardness, but when He received the power of the Most high on the day of pentecost, he was strengthened and preached the gospel without the fear of death. Without Holy Spirit we cannot overcome fleshly desires. Holy Spirit is an active working Spirit.

Peter also deceived everyone when he ate with his Gentile brothers and wanted to hide it because he didn't love his Gentile brothers in Christ.

Paul had to chastise him for such bigotry.

Was he a Christian/saved?

Did he sin?
