I originally started to kneel in prayer to God as a desperate attempt to appeal to him in repentance when I was suffering from panic attacks and depression and felt abandoned by God.

My life got good after I joined church for a while (about 10 years), but then my disabilities caught up with me and things turned bad. God's reached out to me with the Holy Spirit though in peace, love and joy along the way, which has been nice. I was homeless for a short while (thanks to God for it being a short while).
God is a friend unlike any you can think of. He remains there even when you think He should have left. He Is there even when you think He isnt. And He love you even when you believe you have done all you could to make Him stop.

We think He begins to Love us and help us after we say certain words, or take our bodies to this that that place.....But the truth is, he Loved us and helped us just as much before...........While we were yet sinner, Christ die......

Take comfort in knowing that you are never alone.....especially when you are alone.....

dont mind my words....Maybe I've been dropped more than a few times...

I'm curious as I'm new to the Catholic church. What is the meaning of crossing self?
In my church's Eucharistic liturgy, one of the prayers is "Unite us to your Son in his sacrifice." The sign of the cross has the same layers of meaning to me as that prayer. We are made right with God because of the work of Christ; and we pledge (as best as we can) to live in self-sacrificial love, as Christ did; and, because we're going to fail at that, we ask for Christ's incarnation and death to cover and cleanse us; and we look in hope to be raised as Christ was raised; and we are reminded by the cross of God's immense love for us. All of that.
