I heard gailmac wasn't allowed to post and I think I believe the same way, and also with whitestar who posts here. Just wondering what's going on.

If someone wants to be on this board to reach out to Charasmatics (not that they are not saved) but that they might want to share things of concern, is that not allowed here?

Thank you.

If you check out the rules it states that only charismatics can debate here. Non-charismatics can only post threads that ask questions or fellowship posts, no debating. Once the question is answered that is that, no debating. We do have other forums where debates about these things are allowed. I hope this helps, if you have any questions please feel free to PM me and I will help in any way I can.

I have started attending a Charasmatics church and guess I am allowed to post on here to find out more about what is going on. I know some about spiritual warfare, which my other regular Christian church never did...they didn't even do laying on hands and praying or using oil...nothing. Didn't speak in tongues...just so much in the bible that Jesus told us to do and even more after He ascended to Heaven that most 'regular' churches ever do, they only talk about but don't practice at all...which I think is truly sad. :(

So I am over here trying to learn more since I am attending this type of church...

I am very aware of SOME of these churches going to the extreme and have either twisted scriptures or even added to scripture and teach things totally against the bible....(I listen to Hank Hanagraff quiet a bit and am aware of his very strong thoughts and feelings of these type of churches)...so I am not walking in totally blind here.

I expect everything to be backed up by scriptures and not taken out of content or twisted either....

The SAD thing is even in regular Christian churches we find twisting of scriptures, things taken out of content, added to and so on...they are just done with less flare, so to speak...lol. So don't get as much attention.

Like for instance in my regular Christian church we were taught you have to be baptised before you could take commuinion. Well since I was raised in the same type of church (just in a different state) and ALL the churches I had ever attended taught this too, (Methodist, Prestrian, ect) I thought it was based on scripture...never occured on me it wasn't. :(

There were so many times I wanted my son to take commion and he wanted too, but it wasn't allowed since he was not baptised...

It wasn't until two weeks ago went I went to my first Charasmatics church that they actually allowed him to take it, even though he was not baptised, then I got to thinking about all the scriptures on bapitizm and it dawned on me...that no where does it say you have to be baptized to take commuion.

So I found the 'shoe in on the other foot' in this case and felt very disappointed that this was taught to me all these years and it wasn't even in scripture!!

So once I learn more about the beliefs of these churches I could decide I need to go reach out to people going to regular Christian churches...;) (I am just ribbing ya).

I think as much as these type of churches are talked about, no one here isn't going to know what is being said, and I am sure they are all able to refer to their bibles and to the Lord to make sure they are not mislead.

I think we all realize that satan will do what he can to mislead Christian everywhere.

2 Corinthians 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ.

14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as sevants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

I think the people on this fourm probably are more aware of the spiritual battle going on then most Christians on the other fourms actually.

Thanks for your concern though. :)

God bless

I don't understand. The common understanding of communion seems to be an expression of unity between believers. Usually believers are baptised. If someone wants to really take communion, don't they want to be baptised too? Please don't read anything into this, but what you just said whitestar is really interesting to me and if it's not too intrusive I'd like to know more.

I am coming to dislike the term "Charismatic", because it refers to such a broad range of practice and belief, and some of what is practiced in modern day Charismatic churches I disagree strongly with. But still in all I guess I am closer to being a Charismatic than anything else, as I believe in the gifts of the Spirit, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and deliverance. So if I have to label myself, which apparently is necessary in order to continue posting in this forum, that I'll accept the label "Charismatic" if I must.

Besides, the things that I no longer agree with are not any kind of essential doctrines, but just some new things that have cropped up recently in some Charismatic circles, and are really unimportant in the braod scheme of things. And those that post here needn't worry that I would argue or debate about them, because like I say, they are really not important. I have such a limited amount of time available in my day when I can visit here, so I'd much rather spend my time talikng with you guys about important things like deliverance, etc.
