Again, you bring up works. I'm talking about faith you are making faith into works. Weird.
Faith. And faith will produce good results. Not maybe, not sometimes, faith will ALWAYS bring change. Not perfection, but change. And faith must continue. It's not a one time get out of jail free card.Just so we understand each other I just want to ask you,so there's no confusion.
What do you think a person needs to do to be saved?

" And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
It means that just because you believed once doesn't mean you can't be decieved and fall away from the faith. You must continue in faith and complete the race.
I don't see what is hard to understand? Generally, if one totally neglects all spiritual practices, prayers, Bible reading, assembly with other believers, they will eventually be in danger of losing faith.

Then you need to do more reading. Eternal life is for believers. Not apostates, who once believed. Theres a multitude of verses warning about falling away or into false teachings.don't see any keep believing here. Salvation is a free eternal gift from God for those who believe on Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Do a Google search. I'm not gonna list them all. Just the fact that it says there will be a falling away in end times should be enough. 1 Timothy 14:1-5That's right! And being saved is becoming a believer, hence why I asked you.
Amen, eternal life is for believers and it's eternal.
What are the verses that say salvation can be lost?

Of hello again friend, that was a short break.
Notice in that post I said parables and metaphors.
Try watching this and see if you can be saved.
You are right it's not hard to understand. The hard part is getting straight forward answers to straightforward questions.
In regard to your answer about how to be saved the Bible actually ays something different:
Jesus said this
''For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.''
Peter said this
''And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.''
Paul said this
''And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.''
I don't see any keep believing here. Salvation is a free eternal gift from God for those who believe on Jesus Christ as their Savior.
''For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.''
Do you think you're saved. If yes why? If no why?
That's a serious question.
A person who has received the free eternal gift of salvation after being born again can never lose their salvation.
They can be scourge by God in this life but they cannot lose salvation.
Hebrews 12:6
''For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.''
The word believe is in the present tense. Do you think the churches mentioned in Revelation 2-3 never believed? And yet Jesus tells them they must repent. Also Jesus specifically says not everyone who says to Me Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven.
“"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell-and great was its fall."”
Matthew 7:21-27 NASB
“"Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.' Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?' Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."”
Matthew 25:41-46 NASB
You cannot interpret scripture based on single verses. It takes an understanding of the entire message to completely understand what is being said and how to apply it.
To the bolded, I used to hear conservatives say "Obama's not my president" and liberals say "Trump is not my president". As if agreeing with or not agreeing with their policies and decisions makes them any less valid. In the case of the church, it's much more serious. The question is...Why did Jesus institute a Church? And if God instituted one Church, why are we all so divided? Second question: Do you believe in the Trinity? The Canon of the New Testament? If so, then the Church does have authority over you, and it's not for you to pick and choose which doctrines you follow, just as a citizen of the US has to accept the President, whoever he is, and abide by the laws of the country.Amen.This is probably the resolve for you and I on this issue.
The church and its history has no authority over me and my opinion can obviously be rejected by you,so.
I think parables because of their ambiguous nature draw works salvation people in because the language and context can be abused and misrepresented. Works salvation advocates need this as scripture doesn't support salvation by works so i'm not surprised this thread has been inundated by parable quotations.
