  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do you have any....

"The Boys from County Clare" I have to admit, I only watched it because Andrea Corr is in it, but it turned out to be a really great story. Much better than I expected. My daughter just read "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" and really enjoyed it, I didn't even know there was a movie, I'll have to check it out.

The Five People You Meet In Heaven"

Was ok, but I'm glad I did not spend the bucks at the theater....

I really liked "March of the Penguins" though--I loved the little cartoon character dance and I learned alot, the scenery was spectacular.

Employee of the Month this movie was released in 2004 and stars Matt Dillon and Christina Appelgate. ..there is a new movie coming out with the same title. This is one of those movie that goes in a direction you don’t expect. I really didn’t see the ending of this one.

Scotland PA - there is no way to describe this movie and do it justice. It is Shakespeare’s McBeth set in 1975 in a McDonald’s restaurant.

"Creep" if you're into really weird horror movies. It might not be THAT unknown, but... whatever. Nobody I've talked to here has ever heard of it.
Franka Potenta! (It sounded intriguing and had Franka in it.) It was pretty ok. I think I graded it a B.

Interstate 60. If you're any fan of the Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, and comedy, then you owe it to yourself to see this awesome flick. :)
Interstate 60 is on my "surprise" recommendations list also.

Some of my all-time "surprise" recommendations are:

Finding Forrester - It stars 4 Oscar winners (Sean Connery, F. Murray Abraham, Anna Paquin and a surprise at the end). Connery is a secluded author who wrote only one book (Pulitzer Prize winner!) and befriends a young African-American teenage boy who plays basketball and loves to write. The culteral clashes are pretty interesting in this show. (I think I gave it either a B+ or an A- when I first saw it.)

Cube - Ingenious horror flick that has a jaw dropping start (that since has been imitated). I think it only has a cast of 7 or 8 that are trapped in a maze that they are trying to get out of. Beware of certain rooms though, they can kill you.

Little Voice - Jane Horrocks is amazing, imitating Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe and many others of an era long gone. Also stars Michael Caine and Brenda Blethyn.

Mask - Eric Stoltz stars as Rocky Dennis, a young man who has strange looking face (due to a bone disease). Also stars Cher and Sam Elliot.

The World's Fastest Indian - Anthony Hopkins is amazing as Bert Munro, New Zealand motorcycle racer who went to set records in America.

Princess of Thieves - Kiera Knightley as Robin Hood's daughter!

An Unfinished Life - Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Lopez. Very well done!

Akeelah And The Bee - I gave this movie an A. A complete delight!

Last Holiday - Queen Latifah is wonderful in this movie about a lady doing a lot of things before she dies.

King Of Masks - One of my favorite foreign films. I was completely entranced by it.

The Brooke Ellison Story - Uplifting tale about overcoming handicaps. (Produced by Christopher Reeve.)

Fly Away Home - Anna Paquin becomes mother to a bunch of birds.

Whale Rider - Incredible movie! Shouldn't be rated PG-13 (one swear word and one bottle of beer).

Goodbye, Lenin - Delightful story about "changes".

Nightwatch - Russian horror movie (first of trilogy) that was surprisingly inventive and good.

Undead - Foreign horror movie (New Zealand?) that didn't end up where I expected it. It's rare to surprise me like that!

The Prize Winner Of Defiance, Ohio - Julianne Moore is great!

Equilibrium - Christian Bale used this movie to show why he could play Batman. Has some interesting things to say about feelings. Samantha Morton is wonderful as well.

In America - Just a delightful film!!!

Serenity - Not many got to see this amazing sci-fi movie. I gave it an A- (and might have given it an A except they didn't have a big enough budget for some of the special effects).

Well, there's a few of my recommendations of films that probably would surprise you.

Boring.

Great comedy :p

Whale Rider - Incredible movie! Shouldn't be rated PG-13 (one swear word and one bottle of beer).
It was rated as it should. Great performance by the girl. The movie wasn't that good, though.

Goodbye, Lenin - Delightful story about "changes".
Pretty funny, too.

Nightwatch - Russian horror movie (first of trilogy) that was surprisingly inventive and good.
This was a horror film?

The Prize Winner Of Defiance, Ohio - Julianne Moore is great!
...and ugly.

Equilibrium - Christian Bale used this movie to show why he could play Batman. Has some interesting things to say about feelings. Samantha Morton is wonderful as well.
That's not Samantha Morton. It's Emily Watson. Good film, though.

In America - Just a delightful film!!!
Starring Samantha Morton! :p Good film, too.

Serenity - Not many got to see this amazing sci-fi movie. I gave it an A- (and might have given it an A except they didn't have a big enough budget for some of the special effects).
"Firefly" has its decent following, so I think lots of ppl seen it. Great movie.

If you like "In Cold Blood" You might try "Monster", it's one of those Based on truth stories of a Female Murderer. (Not for the kiddies though, She's a prostitute who of course happens to be lesbian).
