Something like these might have been carried and used by certain people for protection or for loosing their money playing a game of cards. From what I understand these mini guns were not reliable nor effective even at close range.
Another name for them is "parlor pistol"
Not if you're the mouse with the thing pointing at you.Really? Even at very close range?
That's a shame.

Too small for taking down a raging elephant.Do you have any "mouse guns" or pocket pistols? What kind? What do you think of them?
That's what I gathered from Rick on an episode of Pawn Stars when a person brought in a parlor pistol and they went into a bit of history on them. Saloon ladies sometimes carried them too. Maybe depending on the model and the condition of the ballistics or powder used, would do some damage at very close range, but keep in mind these were small, and the load of the discharge would be proportionate to the size of the gun, and free aiming isn't like a scope and bench at a range with a high powered rifle.
