No-Seems a little Hollywood for me to think there is a personal Buddie assigned to me like a magic genie.. Are there angels? You bet. But I believe their functions are different
than humans and we are not their "pets".

I must have one (or more, smile) looking out for me. When I reflect on how many really close calls I have had where I might have been hurt or killed and then "something happened" and I escaped with no harm, I can only assume that God has at least one of His angels working overtime on my behalf.

These verses doesn't clarify whether there's one, or many, or whether they show up when needed:

Ps 91:11
For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

Mt 4:6
He shall give His angels charge concerning You, and they shall bear You on their hands, lest You strike Your foot against a stone.

We don't pray to them. But we can certainly ask God to send some when we need help! And I have heard many stories of people seeing them... including friends... large and strong.

Notice how they appeared here:

Mt 4:11
Then the Devil left [Jesus]. And behold! Angels came near and ministered to Him.

Ge 32:1
And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

Mt 13:41
The Son of Man will send forth His angels

It's important to remember that when we pray, God really does act. He's not some single being in the sky who has no time to listen to paeons. He has peeps. And He will use them.

i had an interesting dream last night and this seems to be a great place to recount it.

I was in a car and in the back seat of the car, nowhere near the stearing wheel. someone else (a man) was driving and there were traffic accidents all around. cars were being hit in front of us and to both sides of us, and then spinning into our pathway. :help:
It looked like there were accidents waiting to happen that we could not possibly avoid--and yet we did just that. Even when the road was flooded with water we passed thru it unharmed.:amen:

the important thing to note here was that this was not my doing, but the grace and protection of God and my driver who got us thru.

based on this and several reall life incidents i would say yes, there are angels who guard us.

I would like to share a wonderful experience with you.

I do believe in angels!~~ Guardian, ministering and angels unaware.

When my father passed away this past August, just before he died, he looked up and said, "Oh you have come to take me home." My dad had been lucid and of a sound mind and had been pastoring right up until he passed. When I seen his face and I seen his expression as he was looking, his eyes were not focused on me or mom and I will never forget it. My mom finally said to my dad, "we brought you home." He said,"NO you do not understand, you will understand in a while." I don't know whether my dad seen angels or what because he never told us, but I am convinced that he received his call to go home to heaven and that he was escorted from earth to his heavenly home where he resides with God. I have never seen anything like this in my life. NEVER! I have been around hospitals and nursing homes but I never had the opportunity to be around anyone who was passing and drawing their last breaths that knew Jesus as their personal Savior. Whether my dad saw an angel or what I don't know but I do believe in them.

's to all I hope you have the love of God in you and Jesus as your personal Savior and then we can have it all, HIM the angels and HIS kingdom.

Love,

Thanks, NewSong! What an amazing story.

That reminds me -- the father of a friend of mine described a visitor in the hospital right before he died: a Salvation Army general who said he would take him "home."

The family asked the nurses who the general was, and they said there was no one dressed in a uniform on the floor all day. The patient had been a member of the Salvation Army church when he was little.

There certainly are angels.

Good angels and Bad angels.

The bad angels work with Satan.
The good angels do the will of God.

I have never attempted to contact an angel. Do we really know which kind will respond? good vs bad.

The Bible does not teach that we should be relying on angels...talking to angels...etc...

God is to be our focus.
God is all we need.

If He deems it necessary to send an angel our way.....
that is His call.
It is for His Glory, alone.

And....an angel that is indeed working for our God will not ever desire to touch the Glory of God.

If I still have a guardian angel, he's probably sulking, because I decided long ago, that I was too dumb to trust my discernment about whether any supernatural presence, other than that of God Himself was either divine or Satanic. This may well be the reason that my life has been more than a little difficult to deal with at times. This has caused me to wonder at times because of this decision, but despite the problems, I do not regret it, because God's spirit is far better than any angel's. Why settle for a messenger, when you can go straight to the "head man"?

*personal story*

When I was a teenager I went to springfield Missouri after highschool for some technical training. While there I met a christian guy. We became close. We was staying in the same dorm so it was was easy for us to go out. We left the dorm one evening and went to a local deli for a soda as we had done a couple of times before. When we stepped on to the parking lot of the deli we heard screaming coming from inside the deli. A man and a woman came running out of the deli the man caught a glimpse of me and started running towards me. But stopped suddenly as if he ran into a wall. He then turned around and ran in the opposite direction. When we entered the deli the cashier informed us that they had just been robbed by that couple. when we sat in the booth both of us scared out our gourd my companion looked at me and started to cry. He then whispered thank you Lord. I asked what that was about and he told me that he had seen at that moment a number of angels around me poised as if to protect me.

Hebrews 1:14
14Are not the angels all ministering spirits (servants) sent out in the service [of God for the assistance] of those who are to inherit salvation?

There is no such thing as a 'bad' Angel. That is contradictory, it's like saying a 'good' Devil.

Angels are made of pure light, thus they cannot disobey God.

As for the Holy Spirit, that refers to the Arch-Angel Gabriel. Angels have no free will, they cannot come and go as they please. When God orders them to go down to Earth the obey, other than that they cannot do anything to help you without it being decreed from God.

The Holy Spirit is too important to help us, he is reserved for God's prophets. The Holy Spirit is the one who sent and taught them all the Revelations from God.
No. Satan and all of his followers, were angels before their fall. They had a choice whether to follow God or not. The angels that remained with God, did it by their own choice. Angels are not simply puppets.
