I saw my crush today outside our normal setting, and he came up behind me and surprised me. He was acting silly, and I wound up playfully pushing him a little bit. I totally didn't even mean to, because I know that gives it away. Besides handshakes when we first met, that was the first physical contact.

It was awkward after that. I really don't think he likes me back

it's at that point that you have nothing to lose by asking him from a man's perspective? If a woman likes me it will cause me to button my lip and my face will turn real red. Sometimes the most confedent man in the world can be the shyest around women. It sounds like you 2 are good freinds. Take some courege and ask him out the worst that could happen is that he DOESN'T like you and says "no"... but at least you know at that point and you won't have to speculate anymore. But honestly? What IF he says YES! Well than.... your going on a date with a guy you have a crush on sounds like something worth risking rejection over if you ask me

Not to mention I'd lose this volunteer opportunity which, right now, is pretty much the only thing I have going as far as hope for a job...
