Not to be sarcastic, or start a debate, but aren't all Christians in the full time ministry?
I'm not sure if anyone caught Andyman's insight here. (And likewise, I'm not here to start a debate or sound cynical).
Why is it that many Christians automatically relate a 'calling' and 'ministry' as something to do with work in the church or a ministry organization - such as what's been listed - pastors, missionaries, evangelists etc.
Truth is, everyone is in full time ministry right now, wherever they might be, in whatever they are doing (unless of course, you're sinning or you work as a professional thief!). There is no seperation between our natural life and our spiritual life. It's all just life. One life.
Our role, in any capacity, at any time, is to bring the gospel of the Kingdom of God. In the mission field? Of course. From the pulpit? Of course. But also in the 'mundane' regular domestic environment of our lives. Our Christian experience is only as vital and as valid as it is not when we're just sitting in church, but when we get out in the car park, when we get home and we're cooking dinner or go out to a restaurant, or we go to work in the morning, or the time we turn up and the job that we turn in, and our attitude to our boss, and our attitude to our family, and the way we respond to spouse or our children, and in the domestic environment. Our Christianity is only as vital and as valid as that.
So whether we're 'called' into 'full-time' ministry with a church organization, or whether we're 'not called' but working as a bus driver, a businessman, or a florist, or a plain ol' 'housewife', it's just as vital, it's just a honourable to God, it's just as much an act of righteousness as someone who we traditionally think of in 'full-time' ministry. It's one and the same. Different functions, but the same role: to reveal/share/teach the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the lost.
In fact, I dare say from experience, most times it's much easier to share the gospel from the pulpit to the masses of 'unknown' and 'anonymous' people than it is to our own families, to our own friends, - how about this: to our boss and our co-workers. Why is it more difficult? Because instead of just 'preaching' the gospel, we have to actually be 'living' the gospel.
