Do you find this rude?

Maybe I'm a prude, but I've had 3 different men (customers of mine and some I don't know that well) ask me if I knew what caused my condition. I could understand it if I had a dozen kids or if I had one right behind the other, but this is my second child and my first one is 6 years old. I wish I had the nerve to say something that would put them in their place.

hehee I tend to side with Lexi in that I would want to remark with how babies get here. I don't think I have ever heard of preganancy being a condition either?

I say, "No, what Does cause this?" They shut up really quickly.

I've also gotten the comment, "Don't you people have a tv?" to which I reply... "Actually Yes, we have 2 very nice ones, why?"

Oh, the list goes on & on... It's amazing how stupid people can be. Some people have no mouth filter.

Someone also told me that her response was "yes I do - and I LOVE it!"... but then again, you may just get even more inappropriate responses to that one, too risky for me.

I found that saying "Yeah, wanna see how?" generally embarrasses and gets people to shut up.

Hey tryinghard we are expecting our sixth! Our oldest is 8. We get that question all the time! My favorite answers:

1. I put a TV in the bedroom and it didn't help
2. It's something in the water
3. I am getting spammed by the stork

5. No, please tell me, I don't want anymore kids

I haven't gotten any comments. I think we're okay for a while. We're only on number three. Typical views of family size is a little different here.

I always answer "I know- and isn't it fun! I've found something I am actually good at!"


Usually I get "Boy- you sure have your hands full!" To which I always reply "Better full than empty." And then usually they meekly reply "I guess that's true...."

I don't know why people think it's okay to say things like that to pregnant women or women with small children...those men ought to be chivalrous and protecting us--rather than being asses.

Ah ha, so this is the thread you were reading to me, hon.

I don't just get this question from guys, but from everyone. Even little old ladies at church. Yes, I find it very rude. I hate the implication that my lovely children are something I should have tried to prevent.

It gets worse when people start flat out telling you that you shouldn't have any more kids, based on nothing but their own idea of the right size for a family. I mean, it's not like our kids are starving or running wild, we get compliments on them all the time!!

I had a guy ask me yesterday if I knew how to bring my labor on. Since I've heard that lots of people have sex to do so, I told him I wasn't anxious to bring it on and he never told me what he had in mind. Thank goodness. If he had said sex, I would have died right on the spot cause there were lots of people around.
