i do cry when i can feel the presence of God not just in the song but in the room. even in our traditional services, i can feel tears welling up on certain songs. i understand their meaning a bit more now than i used to. i thank God for that.normally in the traditional services, the presence of God is not felt. however, there are times (very minimal) when i can feel Him. being in the episcopal church, it is a humbling experience to feel His presence at our services. i just pray that more people in my church would learn to recognize that presence.

When i listen to music i picture my life as what's happening in the song. So if there is a song i listened to when something really sad was happening i think of that event everytime i hear the song. There is one song by Third Day that makes me cry sometimes (espcially if im having an emotional day) lol because i listened to it when my friend had to leave for 2 weeks! That song is hard to listen to now...even though it's a great song! (Hold my Head High ~the song)

I have definitely have cried before when singing a song....and sometimes it makes things difficult because I am usually leading the band, leading the singing, and playing guitar lol, so its hard to stop the sniffling! :) lol.... But on a more serious note, I don't cry a whole lot when i sing, because my emotions arent always directed that way. And I don't think that crying necessarily has to do with the level of worship or the intensity of the presence of God, because sometimes I smile like crazy well I lead because I am so happy He is in the room. So there is my 2 or 3 cents. lol.

Yes, and I find it's so healing. Usually the song touches a memory or sentiment or, if I have sinned it turns me back to Jesus in a way which triggers repentance and emotional release. Since I have always had trouble expressing this emotion, I find music is an ideal way to access my tears.

He sees each tear that falls...

With blessing,

Yea I do. I can't help it though sometimes. I have overactive tear ducts or something, cuz I cry all the time. But during Praise and Worship, it all depends on my situation and what song it is or whatever may rise up. But it's almost always during the more slower songs, although on occasion I do cry at the fast paced songs.

When a song is really ministering to me and taking me beyond the sound of the music into the prescence of God, of course.

Ditto

There's NOTHING wrong about being emotional when you're in the presence of God - through music, at church, in your prayer closet, whereever! :amen:

I've yet to make it through the song that starts "Oh let the Son of God enfold you..."
I may occasionally think I've made it through until I get to the line, "So give Him all your years of sadness, give Him all your tears of pain..." and I'm a goner.
I'm actually a fairly well adjusted, happy adult, but something in that song just seems to pull certain emotions out of me. It's a great song, though. Very comforting and powerful ..(after the dredging!) Remember "...and His spirit like a dove, will ascend upon your life and make you whole."
