I used to work some weirdo shift...3AM - 11AM when I was in college working at a grocery distribution warehouse...

Man I hated it...
Tell me about it. When I first graduated college, I worked part-time (in addition to going to graduate school) in a hospital (I actually got to use my college degree). 11pm to 7am shift on Friday's and Saturday's. Nevermind that my morning on Friday's started with an 8am class. Friday's were truly ugly. I'd get home around 7:30am on saturday morning and sleep until around 9pm at night, get up, eat ummm... breakfast I think and head on back to work for the saturday shift.

I didn't like that job much... but the pay was good.

Pah!

You guys have it easy...

I worked in the kids hospital 8am -4pm today, then came straight to the adults hospital, I'm on call here till 8am, when I head back to the kids...
I'll finish at the kids hospital at 6pm, back there again friday 8am - 4pm, when I'l come straight back here to do on-call at the adults hospital from 4pm Friday till 8am Monday. Then straight back to the kids hospital...

So there are 168 hours in a week, and I'm spending 126 of them at work. Lucky I enjoy it!

I have just had one of the most aggravating exhanges in all my time here on this MB and it made me wonder something.

When you participate in a thread, do you actually consider what the other person says or are you just waiting for your turn to give your opinion?

More often than not, and I am just as guilty as anyone else, it seems as if people don't even consider the possibility that they are wrong, no matter what.

Are you like that? Do you give the opinions of others any respect if they contradict your own beliefs? Do you consider what they're saying and consider the possibility that you may be wrong and it would be worthwhile to compare what they say against the Word?

In all my time as a member of this MB I've seen maaaaybe 3 people change their views. It seems as if all people want to do is show those who disagree with them how wrong they are.

I am getting so tired of the arguments...:sigh:

Hi there!

When I first came to this forum, I found it to be the most confrontational forum I had seen on the internet, and I found that to be discouraging.

My reason for being on Q & A forums is to try to present the Bible in truth... so sometimes, I just post and keep going, and sometimes I realize that I need to stand up to be counted.

It's really a choice in whether you want to participate or not... more often, I vote, "not", because of times restrictions... and I just don't have the patients to read through 100+ postings to catch the drift of the posting.

I have learned though, that as soon as it gets personal, walk away.

Hi Don:

Hurricane did little damage to my home and family. Electricity was out for days though.

Have you read the canons of the Council of Orange?

In them I see that man has no free will apart from the grace of God(total depravity), man can do nothing to merit grace(unconditional election), and the perseverence of the saints is implied. I was amazed when I looked and saw Catholic doctrine for what it was, and not what I thought it to be.

I must confess that I need further study to understand irresistible grace and limited atonement as they fit or don't fit catholic doctrine, but I am excited by my research.

My questions to you are

Do you consider the true catholic position?

and

Do you still think the Roman Catholic Church is semipelagian?

In Christ,
Jerome
