But more focused are the communication and weather satellites. Not landing on the moon would be like sailing from America to England and stopping there, when landing on the mainland of Europe when that was the goal. Why would anyone stop at satellites when a moon landing held so much political capital?

Yes it was the same in America; regulations and high taxes, which incidentally led to the invention of stock car racing.

Anyways, I always thought that if I were one of the astronauts, or one of the many scientists and engineers and other people involved in putting man on the moon, I would take it as a great compliment that some people disbelieve it happened. These days, we often use the word "incredible" to mean "really good". Like, "wow I went to this new pizza place, the pizza was incredible!" But of course it means too extraordinary or unusual to be believed. The people who made it happen achieved something so extraordinary that a minority of people just can't believe it. So if I had been involved in the lunar landing project, and anyone said I was lying, and that it never happened, I would just respond with "Thank you very much."

If that were the only evidence, you might have a point. I have no doubt about the veracity of the footage, however. But there is plenty of supporting evidence including eyewitness testimony from born again Christians. You can call them liars. That means you are falsely accusing them to God. That is Satan's job, not yours. You will answer to God for your idle words.

That’s not even an answer. Why do they always lie to the public? There’s probably an answer to that question for each particular occasion. Asking such a generalized question is unanswerable without referring to specific circumstances.

Quite a few nations and even individuals tracked the moon flights over the years they occurred. Remember, there wasn't just one flight.

The Soviets did plenty of weeping (literally, Russians crying in the streets), but they didn't claim the landing was fake.
