But threats of damnation for failing to uphold dogma are empty, and also irrelevant to the topic at hand.

I never threatened anyone. Please read back, I have received continued derisive and mocking comments about my faith, and my intelligence. Quite frankly, some here need to stop insulting Christians. If this is what they want to do, they can take it elsewhere. I have never responded in kind, and yet their remarks continue.

I can assure you, I've heard them all in my life.

The bully approach stopped working on me a long time ago.

And on me. You have been doing exactly the same to Christians.

When one is on a Christian website attacking Christianity, it is certainly relevant to remind them that there IS a God who WILL judge us for our sins.

Now just a minute....

You applauded someone who says he tells children to ignore what they learn in school.

I agreed with someone who tells his grandchildren not to believe there is no God just because a teacher tells them there isn't. Haven't you yourself said we shouldn't just accept what we are taught without question?

Well, you are free to do so, but science is constantly changing and discarding what it once said was absolutely true, so I will not be putting my faith in science.
Yes, science involves conceptual revision. Would you rather that science remain unyielding and dogmatic instead?
Also, many things are outside of the realm of science, this doesn't mean they are not real. Not all truth can be found in a science experiment.
It also doesn't mean that they are real. That science is unable to answer some question does not imply that religion can answer it. It just means that we are ignorant. How else can we resolve our ignorance except by further inquiry?

I think it's time to get mods involved. Continued arguing accomplishes nothing, and there is some major rule violation going on in this thread.

It's also relevant to remind you that I consider this an empty threat, nothing more.

Of course not. I never said otherwise.

I've never said any different. In fact, it sounds like you agree that science isn't something we can put absolute faith in.

Ummm, no you didn't....

Here is what you agreed with:

I warn my great-grandchildren: Whatever you are taught about evolution, don't believe it!

Nothing there about "no god". Just encouraging children to remain ignorant.

Science doesn't demand your "absolute faith" though. Religion does. Science only requires that you be open to reconsidering your position in light of evidence.

The evolution he is speaking of is the kind that removes God. Do honestly think God and creation are still taught in school?
The evolution he is speaking of makes no mention of god at all. It doesn't "remove God." It doesn't mention God. Is that problem you are having; that it doesn't mention God?
