Do we plan our own steps?

According to the Word of God, we do not.... none of the scriptures listed below indicate that we choose our own steps. I'll let the Word speak for itself.:)

Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Proverbs 16:9 In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.

Proverbs 20:24 A man's steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?

Jeremiah 10:23 I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.

I just don't see any "wiggle" room here for free will or my own decision-making.

Not only do we not plan our own steps we don't even know where we are going half the time !

At least half of our fine plans fail , which is ample evidence we walk in the dark and only gradually see the way lit up , providence is a mystery .

If only a fraction of our desires and plans are fulfilled it proves beyond all reason that when we do arrive at any planned destination it is NOT as a result of prudence and good judgment , else all our plans would be fulfilled , instead , if we even make it to the shopping mall it is down to The Lord ,

James 4

[15] For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
[16] But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

Hey thats my line. Yesterday you spent an hour or so shooting me down.

That is because your definition of permission is absence and lack of decree !
It is not bare permission as in "God goes for a walk " and takes a risk , rather , God already knows what man will do because He has decreed to permit what will take place , if , and I do say IF , God decides the event will not take place He has the advantage of intervening and changing what would have been , even though in truth , He already knew what He would do from eternity , there is no change or learning in God.

Back to the risk fallacy again.

If I employ a builder and I know the maximum amount of bricks he can lay in an hour. I can foreknow the builder will not have built a 4 storey block of flats while I have gone for a tea break. I can know this with absolute certainty WITHOUT having to control the bricklayer like a puppet.

Same with God and the tower of babel.
Same with God and all man.

To say that God must preordain ALL movement of atoms otherwise he is taking a risk is nothing more than fallacy. It limits God in the extreme. Nonsense.

This forum is known for being a rough place. Lots of dissension, confusion, foot stomping and so forth. Did God decree that for his glory ?

Here is a recent post on another thread about this Soteriology board( I have blanked the miscreants name ).

Trouble is, I like a fight, which is why I often wade in over there. I find that the arguing keeps me mentally agile (ish) and I get to meet people who are in deep denial about their Calvinist beliefs, ....

(BTW he says he is a Calvinist !)

Did God infallibly cause this man's attitude or has he taken his own steps ?

Is 53:6
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Would you deny that whoever this person is wasn't preordained by God to break the law?

God directed my fingers to type this.

Scripture says God directs mans steps , would you deny scripture for the sake of attempting to cling onto mans "sovereignty" ? Man isn't acting independently , ever.

ASnd as for scripture

Is 53:6
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

turned to his own way

Who's way ? God's way ? NO turned to his own way

This is the word of the Lord. Not difficult.
