Ghost.....are spirits, any Christian that doesn't believe in spirits is unbiblical, we are told to test the spirits, so we know spirits exist, if you knew what the bible teaches, you would know that if a spirit was trying to make you think it was your passed on loved one, that it is a lying spirit and you should have nothing to do with it, further more you are (if you are a christian) not to have any communication with the dead (AT ALL!) don't enteract don't talk to this spirit unless you simply command it to go into the abyss which is what I suggest.

I am sorry.. I am totally confused with this post..and yes I am a Christian .. Is there any biblical verses that you can refernce?

It seems everybody wants something freaky lately there is a couple of threads about ghosts etc so here you go... I saw this elsewhere. I don't know what to make of it myself.

My mum (aged 90) died almost 3 years ago. The day of her funeral it was winter, a horrible stormy rainy day...everyone said....we'll get soaked at the grave side. I was the only one who said....no, the sun will shine !! Sure enough as soon as we got to the grave side...the sun shone, warm and bright....as soon as the service was finished, it poured with rain again, and we had to run for shelter. Everyone..except me...was stunned. Since then, I've experienced many things regarding my mum.....no, I don't want to contact her spirit or see her....I figure she's very happy in the company of Jesus. But I've been thinking of her when I've been going over a bridge near where I live and I've...sort of said to the Lord...if mum is close, let me see a dolphin...and sure enough, I'll see one when I may not have seen one in months. Or at night I'll say to the Lord....I miss mum sooooo much, if she's near, please let me see a shooting star, and I'll see a couple of them. Coincidence......maybe.....but to me, it's the Lord comforting me. I don't visit her grave, because I feel nothing when I'm there. Sometimes if I have problems and wish I could tell her about them, a thought comes into my head as if she's talking to me and the words I hear are what she might have said to me if she'd been alive. I'm very aware that the devil can deceive us, and that's the last thing I want, but I do believe that the Lord can and does comfort us regarding our dead loved ones. I hope I see mum again one day....if I don't, if Heaven doesn't have families like we have here on earth, then that's ok too, because I know she's in Heaven in her new home. I do believe that God can do anything, even allow us to feel the presence of our loved ones sometimes.....but how often He does it....I don't know.

are you serious? whats confusing the fact that spirits exist or the fact that I am saying ghost and spirits are one in the same, you've heard of the "Holy Ghost" right?......The bible says God is a Spirit, so right off the bat we know at least one Spirit exist, do you not read of any other spirits in the bible.....being evil.....cast out of people and such.....are you still confused?

Umm no- I understand that .. I guess the way you worded it confused me..someone at the beginning of this topic said Samual in the old testament visited as a spirit. It was on the first page..

In the New Testament there is the story of the rich man and poor man and that makes it clear that there are no ghosts, any manifestations such as the one you pointed out are simply demons manifesting, not the actual person

I read that too .. But did you read the devotional? About Moses and Elisha ? Was that demonic? MatthEw 17:1-9?

if Ghosts WERE real, they wouldn't WANT to harm people becuase when you die you find out God is real and you either in danger of hell or going to heaven. so any ghost who came back to earth would be to afraid of God to do anything wicked to anyone.

John 8:44, what is the point of posting this verse? Which by the way is a confusing verse in it's own. The devil was once an angel in heaven created by god himself.

so yes they know everything that you think only a dead person would know.

I've had too many personal experiences to deny the supernatural. I just wouldn't call them ghosts.

Forgive my ignorance - but where the heck is "sheol"?

Shoel (hebrew) is the grave - but in the bible many times is translated to "hell" In Greek its Hades, same thing sometimes interpreters translated it into hell and not grave, or ground, or pit. And this is why its hard to trust our modern day translations.

sheol is a place. when you get there it will closely resemble where you were when you died, all the people will be there(of course it wont actually be them, just look alikes) world events will continue like they were. you will know your dead, but only becuase you will be assigned a state of misery or happyness and there will be a voice in your head guiding you along the pathway of righteousness.

I will say this though, for some of us, on the other side of death its going to nicer then it was during life, and for some of us it's going to be worse for you to be dead then to be alive. and that isn't even heaven and hell, that happens to you BEFORE you get to the final judgement. there is a task before you weather you realize it or not during death, you are busy and not idly sleeping like some people think.

when you die you are not perfect. true? well after you are dead, you will be put through situations that are straining you and you will have to decide wheathor or not you want to put your entire heart into living for God. you will have to give up nearly everything up to and including laughter and you will have to stand up for what is right even though you might get beat up for it(although you probably wont).

essentially you will be crafted until you are AS PERFECT AS JESUS becuase until you are, you CANNOT enter heaven.

the situations you are put through is that your loved ones will reject you(even though they are not your loved ones but imitations) unless you quit talking to them about christ.


some of the things you learn while you're dead will astound you, how far from perfection you were.
