Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Mat 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Isa 41:1 "Coastlands, listen to Me in silence, And let the peoples gain new strength; Let them come forward, then let them speak; Let us come together for judgment.
Isa 41:2 "Who has aroused one from the east Whom He calls in righteousness to His feet? He delivers up nations before him And subdues kings. He makes them like dust with his sword, As the wind-driven chaff with his bow.
Isa 41:3 "He pursues them, passing on in safety, By a way he had not been traversing with his feet.
Isa 41:4 "Who has performed and accomplished it, Calling forth the generations from the beginning? 'I, the LORD, am the first, and with the last. I am He.'"
Isa 41:5 The coastlands have seen and are afraid; The ends of the earth tremble; They have drawn near and have come.
Isa 41:6 Each one helps his neighbor And says to his brother, "Be strong!"
Isa 41:7 So the craftsman encourages the smelter, And he who smooths metal with the hammer encourages him who beats the anvil, Saying of the soldering, "It is good"; And he fastens it with nails, So that it will not totter.
Isa 41:8 "But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend,
Isa 41:9 You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its remotest parts And said to you, 'You are My servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you.
Isa 41:10 'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'
Isa 41:11 "Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; Those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish.
Isa 41:12 "You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, Those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent.
Isa 41:13 "For I am the LORD your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.' (NASB)
I have a bad reputation in the Online Christian Community because I have been tested and found not willing to compromise on the Word of God. On one site before my posts can be shown they must pass inspection by the moderators for this same reason. I will deal with the Isaiah 41 passage first because the root of the problem in the Church about such issues is found wanting there. Today I was warned that I would be banned if I posted certain information openly or if I insisted on judging the fruit of anyone, as we are instructed to do in the first paragraph of Matthew 7 and in other verses in the four Gospel accounts of the ministry of Jesus.
It is common, today, to fear men more than God... Pure Foolishness! This passage in Isaiah instructs me, you and every believer not to fear, period, because our YHWH is with us. Jesus taught us not to fear he or it that can kill the body but rather to fear (respect and revere) He that can kill eternally. (Not a quote but a Bill Taylor translation.) The Old Testament, the Bible Jesus, John, Jude, Paul and the other Church Fathers taught from, has been, by and large, trashed today leaving the New Testament to stand alone. Without the Old Testament the New has no relevance, what-so-ever.
The demise of versions such as the Thompson Chain Reference is a large contributor to this issue. When a Chain Reference is studied it is clear that all of the Christian Bible is, directly, tied together and unavoidably so. I hold the position that the Bible is the first thirty-nine books and the remaining twenty-seven are the best Life Application Commentary ever written. The New Testament is grounded in the Old Testament and the Old Testament is explained in the New Testament.
Now, that first paragraph of Matthew 7. The World, Satan's Army, is corrupting the Church. The World has used the first verse aggressively, long and loud to shut the mouths of the under studied, timid Christians. Jesus did not stop teaching after speaking Matt. 7:1, nor did He change subject. This complete chapter was spoken at once and must be read this way. The fact is there were no paragraphs or verse numbering when these words were recorded and it intended that the entire Sermon on the Mount is to be read as one statement for it is one lesson/sermon.
If we run through this life never judging anything or anyone we will be a sad, sad, people. Had I never judged the men in the jungles of South Vietnam riding their bicycles in their black Pjs, I and my crew would not have survived to come home. No, we are commanded here to get the log out of our eye (stop sinning) and then to judge the fruits of our neighbors with love in our hearts.
May God bless the understanding of His Word to your and to my heart for a blessing. AMEN!
