Do -most- Christians accept evolution?

I am not sure how you would find what percentage of Christians accept the theory of evolution, but if you look at a scale of which countries are the most religious and which ones have the biggest populations of people that accept evolution, there is a really strong correlation (with evolution support going down as religion goes up), in general.

The United States is in the lowest tier with countries like Cypress and Turkey. Right around 50 percent say evolution is a true theory.

I know in the United States there is a movement, fundamentalism, which denies evolution in favor of a more dogmatic creationism. Catholics, on the other hand, (I believe) accept "theistic evolution." In fact, it seems most Christians outside the US accept evolution-- I don't believe European biology classrooms have to battle creationists.

So am I correct? Do most Christians world-wide accept theistic evolution? Can anyone point me to any statistics?

I honestly don't know. I can remember a few years ago, however, that a phone poll on Australia's [Channel] Seven's Sunrise said that about 50-60% of the viewers who responded believe that evolution is true. This is quite remarkable of course given that evolutionism is the only explanation taught.

IMO, the teaching of schools and universities is indoctrination and very closed-minded not to mention deceiving.
