  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ok, I know you said serious, but I just can't come up with anything except don't go out with your tin foil beanie on. I have heard that a car is the safest place during a lightening storm because of the rubber tires acting as 'grounders' or something?
Oh ZooMom you make me laugh sooooo hard. LOL.. I really wish you could see and hear me to get the full effect. Tinfoil beanie...lol... *wipes tears from eyes

Well this might be story for Reilly's pub or perhaps the Blonde moments section of Reilly's pub. But when lightening bolts are mentioned I always think of a really, really stupid thing I once said. (I know it's hard to believe)

I was talking to a group of co workers and we were talking about some program on satan's tool that we had all seen. (tv)-- It was one of those docuentaries about bear attacks. About people in real life getting attacked by wild bears in the forest on hunting or camping trips or whatever.

And I said, boldly..."Do you want to know how you can avoid getting attacked by a bear if there is one on your trail?" And they said 'No, how?' And I said 'You find a secluded spot away from a tree and if there is nowhere you can run, like inside or to a car, then you squat down and stick your rear end up in the air!'

And they just looked at me with empty stares.

The reason they just looked at me with empty stares ofcourse, is because that is what you do if lightening is about to strike, and you feel the hair stand up on your neck, because that way, if it does hit you, there's more of a chance it will hit a fleshy part of your body, instead of your head or something.

But I got it confused with what you would do in case of a bear attack. :D

Now how dingy is that?

:D

Welcome to CF and to OBOB KatesMom.....

As far as my Brothers and Sisters that you currently see in this thread you will have to forgive them, they have developed Internetitis.....Their daily usage of the Internet has made them just slightly loopy if you know what I mean...but I have developed a way around that so truly I am the only sane one around here....

*debiwebi crosses all her fingers toes legs and arms as she says this*

Seriously though you have gotten some great advice in this thread and you are always welcome here....I am glad to see that you have come here that has to mean that you must think there is a possibility.....

Katesmom,

Yes, you most definitely belong here. Please, please continue to seek Jesus in His Church. I assure you that great consolation will be found, and as you learn more and more about His Bride (the Church) you will be blown away by the splendidness of this great gift of the Church.

I will pray for you. Please know that if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

May you come to know the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Katesmom, p2bc is right! The Church is a Great Gift of the Infinite Mercy of God, a living breathing organism filled with the Holy Spirit, the branches of the Vine who is Jesus. The Chruch is truly where God dwells on earth. Our Lord said that He is the New Temple where God dwells. The NT tells us we are members (parts) of His Body. When Paul was on his way to kill and imprison Christians, he was knocked off his high horse and asked by Jesus: Why do you persecute ME?
