Probably depends how attractive you are, I know that it's annoying when people I don't view as attractive stare at me, then again those who I do find attractive make me anxious.

It's just staring quizzically wondering why they're staring until one/the other gets uncomfortable and runs away. Like a stare off.

I actually have a code of ethics when it comes to stares. It's simple: she is her own property. If you take without asking you're more likely to offend than to please as opposed to when she's advertising (intentionally, and note that I said likely to offend, not certain to offend).

Assuming the question is to do with attraction, well I wouldn't want a single girl staring at me in a lustful way, I feel like I'm being used for mental masturbation. I get this occasionally, I don't like desperate women. If I was married to her I'd be fine with it. If it's out of admiration or something more innocent like that, I'm cool with it. You can kind of sense the difference.

yeah, desperation generally isn't very attractive, but there's shades of grey in that area and a glance even obviously indicating desire isn't exactly a desperate stare.
And FTR, I would prefer that the woman I end up marrying actually had desire for me before I married her, otherwise marriage would be sort of ridiculous don't you think?

That depends on the type of stare. Some dogs I give a wide berth, others I chuck a treat at, some I call cutie patatooties and blow raspberries on their head. Dogs are so much easier than people.
