Just curious.

Do the Scriptures mention anything about this?

Ro 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Ro 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Ro 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Ro 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Animals do not have freewill, They can not sin, Even when your dog does it on your best rug he is innocent even though you may really believe he did it on purpose with evil intent,;)

Hi Deu58,

I can understand animals not being able to sin. But not having freewill? Maybe I misunderstand what freewill means...What do you mean when you say freewill? Is it the ability to make decisions or is it more than that? thanks :)

They cannot sin. God made it so after the evil one took the form of a serpent. (Chapter 3 Genesis)

Thanks for the reply holyorders,

I believe animals can't sin either, mainly because they cannot be decieved through words (or for that matter know the word of God..right? ) and thats how God made them.

I looked through ch3 Genesis, but it doesn't seem to say explicitly that at that time animals would no longer be able to sin. Bringing up the story about the serpent is a great example!

Also, does that mean at one time animals used to be able to sin? Or do you just mean that only one animal ever sinned and that was in the form of a serpent? Or do you mean something totally different all together?

Can we consider the serpent as a regular animal possessed by the Devil? Or is the serpent an incarnation of the Devil and this incarnation a form of an animal that God had already previously created. Sorry for all the questions...I am honestly curious.

Any further answers or info that anyone would like to add would be greatly appreciated.

You know your question kind of has me scrathing my head, Does an animal have no sense of freewill at all?? That is kind of hard to answer really,

How much of an animals behaviour is gentic response and how much is persoanal choice?? Your dog does not have to like you, He choses to like you,

Ever heard of KOKO the gorilla?? The studies concerning her has really changed how man views the inteligence of at least certain animals,

KOKO was a young female Gorrilla that some scientists taught sign language and they could basically communicate with her,

They had some incredible conversations with her, They discovered she had an understanding of Death, Loss, Love I am sure you can find info on the net about her,

When KOKO got older they found a mate for her, one of the first things she did was think the guy was stupid and she began teaching him sign language,

So to tell you honsestly I really do not have a good answer to your question,

Hunt arond and see what you can find and would be interested in hearing your view on the issue,

I doubt it! I think these claims are wildly exaggerated. There is a great deal of subjective interpretation involved here, and her handlers probably saw what they wanted to see.

I can understand how you feel, But this has been documented, She has been in the National Geographic several times and I had a DVD on her and the work they were doing, It is really intersesting stuff,

Could it be hoax? Sure, could be but if it is it is pretty elaborate one,

I think she is still alive and the research is still on going,

Hi all

It would be nice if some one who has done some studies in animal behaviour would chip in here, I know we underestimated the intelligence of animals, They are no where as dumb as we think they are,

But then again one has to avoid the mistake of going to far the other way also,
