• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been having a feeling of dizziness & nausea for several weeks. I kind of feel like my eyes want to cross. Also I feel like I'm hungry all the time & like my blood sugar is low, but bloodwork my Dr. did was normal. I used to get fluid on my inner ear but haven't had problems with that since I went on allergy shots, but I wonder if that could be it, although it doesn't usually last this long.
I cannot be pregnant, so we can rule that one out.
Anyone ever had this?

I think I may have figured out what my problem was. I think it's because I stopped taking Klonopin regularly. I have a prescription for it because I have occasional panic attacks, usually few & far between. But back in the fall & early winter I was sick for 10 weeks & started having panic again & was taking a whole Klonopin every 12 hours. This was from the end of October through about the first week of January. Prior to that I was only taking them every now & then, usually just a half tablet. I noticed if I started feeling dizzy & nauseated it seemed to coincide with times when I didn't have any Klonopin in my system. Then I tried taking a half tablet & the symptoms went away within 30 minutes. I looked it up on the internet & those seem to be withdrawal symptoms. I've gone back to taking a half tablet at night & no more symptoms so far. I guess I could cut back to a quarter tablet & then gradually down to none. Doctors tend to not tell me of things like this when they prescribe meds to me, but to be honest, when I'm panicking badly I don't even care. The only thing I was told was that people who take high doses can't suddenly stop or they might have a seizure, but I wasn't on a high dose. Anyway, looks like I will have to go off this medicine more gradually & then use only every now & then if needed. I appreciate everyone's concern about this. I'd actually rather it just be a medicine side effect than an illness. I can deal with coming off medicine better than I can deal with being sick.

Glad to hear you "think" you have figured it out. but always be safe and call the dr...... I have been on klonapin for 7 yrs 1 mg 3xs a day, which is alot, and have stopped suddenly at times, or have run out...one of the main withdrawl symptoms they worry about is seizures, never had what you have experienced, but i suppose we are all diffrent...but to be safe i would call the dr....Be safe and Blessed
