For those who belong to God, everything to do with Potter is really a non-issue. It is occultic, evil, and demonic and no one who claims to be a Christian should have any part of it! THIS IS A FACT - HELLBOUND LOST SINNER! If you have attended the movie, or allowed your children to attend. Or if you or your children have read the satanic books. Then know this: YOU ARE NOT SAVED! YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN! "

Right; fine - I'm not a Christian. Just self-deceived into having thought, spoken and lived like one for the last 30 years (most of the time, at least!). For I confess, I saw the movie: nay, worse than that, I enjoyed it - sinner that I am; there is clearly no health in me and I shall henceforth resign myself to a lost eternity in the unquenchable fires of hell.

Not!

And, for the record, I have no recollection of anyone in the movie swearing or taking the Lord's name in vein. Neither did I find it particualry occultic, just a fairly good bit of typical fantasy, which just happened to feature alledged 'witchcraft', with an encouragingly positive moral tone, if a little scary in places for younger kids.

I do understand the books - particularly the later ones - (which I have not read), are slightly more explicit in their occultic references. However, I'd personally rather my children (not that I have any!) watch H.P. than much of the amoral, hedonistic, violent, sexually suggestive fodder which graces our cinemas under PG certificates! Tho', as a responsible parent, I would want to watch it with them and engage in constructive discussion on various points from a Christian perspective - which I think would be far more constructive in leading them towards faith in Christ than a blanket, legalistic 'Thou shallt not watch this Satanic abomination' (which would perhaps only make them want to sneak out and view it on the sly to see what all the fuss is about!).

I'm sorry, IMHO they had some good stuff (the anti-Rock music stuff) and much more that was OK. . .:)
And I guess that if I ever want God to care about me again, that I have to be like that. . .sorry for criticizing it :sorry:

I have it on excellent authority that God loves you just fine.

Good opinions are fine. And so is calling sin, 'sin'. But how you put this over is another. And, IMHO, yelling 'YOU HELLBOUND SINNER' at those who don't share your stance (particularly at other Christians) is probably not the most Christlike (or effective) way of doing it. (Having spent a year doing so on the streets during my 'cult phase' perhaps qualifies me better than most to say so!) And often masks some personal insecurity or guilt conscience - often over something far more glaringly sinful than what you are condemning others over - 'planks' and 'motes' ring any bells?

It's always encouraging to see people's character grow. Everybody comes to a point where they have to admit they were wrong and apologize. Some more than others - me being included in that group :sigh: , but it is occasion to rejoice when the truth wins out and people submit theirselves to one another in love. Thanks for displaying such good character. It's a good example to all. EXCELLENT!

If christianity had a downfall, these articles are it.

The base link is here: http://rapture.netfirms.com/aanfmenu.html

If you read most of the articles, you can see that alot of them accuse you as being the worst christian. It's extremely in-your-face-i'm-better type of attitude. Though some of the teachings there are good, the way they display it is offensive enough to see that they're telling you are useless and must be saved and that only THEY can help you.

I seriously don't think that's the right attitude to put the love of God into practise. I'm probably sounding a bit cranky about this. Sharky can be veeery cranky . If i'm wrong, i will gladly step down being mistaken since i'm here to just point it out. But that's the way i see how this site is doing it. Take a read at a few of the articles especially the first link. any opinions?
I clicked on both those links and it said those sites have been cancelled.

What if a person went to watch the movie to discern if it is against God or not? Obviously, the author went and saw the movie since he knows what it's all about, so therefore he is condemming his ownself.

The Bible says it is a sin to misguide a child, and also to partake in any sort of approval of witchcraft, sorcery, and magic.
Please, what's nbsp??
