For those who belong to God, everything to do with Potter is really a non-issue. It is occultic, evil, and demonic and no one who claims to be a Christian should have any part of it! THIS IS A FACT - HELLBOUND LOST SINNER! If you have attended the movie, or allowed your children to attend. Or if you or your children have read the satanic books. Then know this: YOU ARE NOT SAVED! YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN! "
Right; fine - I'm not a Christian. Just self-deceived into having thought, spoken and lived like one for the last 30 years (most of the time, at least!). For I confess, I saw the movie: nay, worse than that, I enjoyed it - sinner that I am; there is clearly no health in me and I shall henceforth resign myself to a lost eternity in the unquenchable fires of hell.
Not!
And, for the record, I have no recollection of anyone in the movie swearing or taking the Lord's name in vein. Neither did I find it particualry occultic, just a fairly good bit of typical fantasy, which just happened to feature alledged 'witchcraft', with an encouragingly positive moral tone, if a little scary in places for younger kids.
I do understand the books - particularly the later ones - (which I have not read), are slightly more explicit in their occultic references. However, I'd personally rather my children (not that I have any!) watch H.P. than much of the amoral, hedonistic, violent, sexually suggestive fodder which graces our cinemas under PG certificates! Tho', as a responsible parent, I would want to watch it with them and engage in constructive discussion on various points from a Christian perspective - which I think would be far more constructive in leading them towards faith in Christ than a blanket, legalistic 'Thou shallt not watch this Satanic abomination' (which would perhaps only make them want to sneak out and view it on the sly to see what all the fuss is about!).
