Cat doing the paper work? Do you read it? It seems to me, maybe your four legged biological alarm clock is upset.
We could rebuild the empire state building with all of the unread bibles. I have lot of dog ears on mine.

Burning it is the typical method of destroying an unusable item, much like burning an unusable flag. You could contact a local church. Generally, most liturgical (Catholic, Lutheran, Episcopalian etc.) churches have a regular timeframe to dispose of such items. Not sure about your own Baptist church but ask the pastor there.

I have a nice cat, though most cats have a mind of their own and not always trying to please as a dog will. A cat who acts as you said may be very angry and the Bible was just something in His way. I doubt that he was against God ---Ha! If the Bible does not have a lot of notes you made in the book, and it is not easily cleaned, I would dispose of it ---God will understand that. It may be that the enemy of your soul ---Satan, is seeking to trouble you over this.
By the way: I recommend the sound Authorized KJV Bible as being the closest to the mind of God in the wordings, and the Scofield KJV Study Bible shows meanings and understanding to what God is saying to us, rather than just words to make it be more simple, as some new versions are doing. You can obtain this book at Bible Truth Publishers, Addison, IL -USA.

While burning or burial are traditional ways of disposing of an unusable Bible, I would talk to your pastor first to see if your church doesn't already have a way of doing this already. I suggest that because not only is it probably the easiest, but it also means you don't have to be the one dealing with fire codes and burning ordinances that you may or may not be aware of where you live.

Also, if you need to toss it in the trash or recycling, that's okay. Lightning isn't going to strike from heaven if you do that.
