We can even prove it -- by sticking a car out in the middle of a field and watching it rot away. We even know that genetic information is lost when new life is created (childbirth). So in this universal law that says, and proves, that everything is falling apart, how do we then rectify a theory that says life is improving for the better, striving for further complexity and perfection?
