Dishonest school help

I have a bachelor's in biochemistry from a University. I want to be a Medical technologist but i haven't had luck in getting a job without ASCP certification in the state of Arizona. There are only two accredited schools and the other one has a 2 year wait list and only accepts 12 students so I went to a private school.

The school that I am going to had a course that was so bad the teacher got fired because it was so disorganized and so many assignments it was impossible to do well. The people who made it through cheated and some also didn't have to work and attend school cause they have trust funds or savings.

Anyways I am upset because I have to take an F cause it's too late to drop and I can't make up the assignments cause it's way too many to make up and I don't have access to some of them. I already also missed the final to study for another class and do the homework for that one.

This whole thing extends my graduation out 6months- a year and it's just because of that one class! What can I do?

Also I'm 27 I'm getting married and I'm pregnant. I don't have time for this drama. I'm suffering from morning sickness everyday so I don't need this stress of a bad school but I need the job I can get with the certification.

I already tried talking to program director and I don't get more than an I know how frustrating this is and I'm sorry I didn't know how bad things were in that class. I mean most students were failing or left the program.

I have no other school options help?!!

I would make a format complaint to the head rooster and if that doesn't work, find out who is the authority who monitors the college and its performance. There must be some state or federal authority that accredits colleges, and if there are courses that are actually disadvantaging students through staff incompetence, then the accrediting authority must investigate if there are complaints that go through to them. You should not be disadvantaged through the incompetence of a staff member and the inability to compensate students who have been "shafted" through something that is not their fault.

If nothing else works, you can always name and shame them on social media.

If she shames them on social media that may also take away for the respect anyone has for the degree from that school...handicapping her in the future since that is where her degree is from.

It worries me that you assume that anyone who got a good grade did it dishonestly. Maybe some did but that doesn't mean everyone did. What you are finding out is why the other school had a 2 year wait...they have a better program. I don't think you have anything to do but wait and retake the class. You skipped the final...I don't think there is any coming back from that beyond simply retaking the class and getting the projects done on time and showing up for the tests.

However, you can apply for jobs letting them know you are only one course short...and maybe someone will hire you contingent on finishing the program and getting your certification ... or maybe hire you in a lower level position with the ability to move up when you are certified.

If a person got a good grace in spite of an incompetent teacher then that shows that the person made up for it by extensive background study to compensate. But if people put their whole trust in the teacher and do not get into the college library and supplement the classroom teaching with personal study then they are working at a disadvantage.

But you don't get credit for a class you didn't take...even if the teacher was bad. At best, she could ask for her money back and the "F" be removed from her record...but the fact that she didn't even show up for the final would make it hard to prove that the incompetence of the teacher was the reason she failed.

OP: I feel for you but I don't think there is a way to fix this. You have to take the class to get the certification...that is probably mandated nationally. To report them would be taking the risk that they might loose their ability to certify people ... which since you aren't certified yet, may mean all the classes you did take are worthless.

I just ended up dropping and I'm gonna retake it with a different instructor. It was too much of a mess to fix imo. I didn't learn much because the instructor didn't demonstrate anything. She was fired and replaced. I didn't show up for finals because I would have failed regardless because I was missing about 10 assignments I didn't know were assigned because the class was that disorganized. Assignments and the syllabus didnt match what was actually due at all lol. Other students passed by cheating and copying each other's tests. The instructors didn't care anymore cause it got so bad they just wanted to get people through the class. And black ribbon is correct, complaining doesn't really help cause I still need the certification.

Good luck. It stinks that there are schools and teachers like that but it is part of reality. Try to see it as part of God's plan even though you don't know what God is preparing you for or how it fits in His plan.
