Well, I just have to say that the WOF channels or preachers you are talking about have gone. No Daystar, no INSP, no World Harvest, no Benny Hinn channel. It's still there, but you still don't get it. Do you think Logo cares if you block there channel? You know, if you ask to hold the pickels, they don't give you a discount off the burger, you are still paying for it and they are not serving it to you.

DirecTV can do as they wish, but as for LOGO - they are a commercial driven channel. If the channel does not get many viewers the commercial providers will back out and the the channel will loose their income and not be able to stay afloat. I really doubt that LOGO will survive.

But this thread was susposed to be about cable vs dish, which is better. I stand by my statement that having my DericTV service is far superior than cable!

I have Dish AT120 (including locals) with DISH Player-DVR 625/522 (one receiver for 2 TVs). My monthly bill is $48.38 (including taxes)

Anyway - I'm much happier with DISH than I was with cable.

I am getting REALLY tired of my cable company and am looking at Dish Network. Anyone have any opinions- good or bad re Dish. Am I cutting off my nose to spite my face? Should I just suck it up and pay the next rate hike and keep quiet about losing HBO? Should I upgrade to Digital with the cable (even though they won't give me the price break because we already have the basic service and aren't "new" customers? TELL ME WHAT TO DO?!?!?

My husband and I went to Dish, but everytime the wind blew or a cloud passed by we lost all programing. It was horrible. We went back to cable.

So, you are a fairly new DISH customer based on the 625 receiver. That's a fair price to pay for what you get. I do agree that it is a better deal then cable. Now, if you didn't have the 625 and had two receivers, you would have to pay $5 more. I'm wondering though, don't you have to pay a $5 DVR fee? That would bring your monthly total to $49.97 without taxes. That's a great receiver, if they don't charge that fee, fantastic! A dual tuner DVR, cable could never touch that at that price.

I'm wondering, have you tried to get Sky Angel? You need a second dish.

I have never had dish..
We have digital HDTV w/non commercial music cable that also includes our internet and this cable also has phone capabilites...and it provides virus protection 24/7 updates...

Because we live in L.A. County, DISH provided a second dish for free to receive all the locals.

Oh, cool about the free second dish. I got lucky and got one too and then they moved the rest of the locals to another satellite. So, now when I talk to people that have DISH in this area, they have to buy the second dish for Sky Angel, but it's only $99 installed. I'm ordering a 625, I know I'll like it. Now I can have programming in the living room and bedroom and not have to pay the extra receiver fee.

We have Dish Network because it is cheaper than cable. I like the Dish so far we have AT120, no DVR and 1 receiver. Not sure how much it costs since we're getting it free for 3 months. All I know is that it is cheaper than cable. I miss having a cable modem but the price was getting rediculous even owning our modem. I'd rather pay less for slower service through AOL. I though dial up was horrible but it really hasn't been that bad.

My husband sells dish network and its great as long as you live in the city limits and not around alot of trees, because you lose your signal more. We personally have digital cable, but thats mainly because we rent our present house and we're building so we dont want to have to move the dish. We're also not to crazy about the dish installer for our area.
