This is a precious account of Jesus' compassion for this widow. This was her only son. She was not only in grief for the loss of her son, but this also leaves her "abandoned" so to speak, for now she had no one. What a great grief this must've been, so much so, that Jesus was filled with compassion for her, and He, in essence, gave her back her son.

Can you imagine what that must've been like for her?
