I'm not trying to "bible-bash" or anything before anyone starts getting the wrong idea's but when I think about it the christian church as a whole preaches that everyone is equal and "love thy neighbor" but the church has discriminated against so many subculture's over history that it shouldn't really be overlooked. The church is against gay marriage yes it may be part of your beliefs but it seems that you are refusing to accept what you don't want to try and comprehend. If your religion is saying to treat people equally but then persecuting someone for their choice in partner isn't that hypocritical? Even in history there has been mass persecution against people who choose a different way of life than the way the church dictates. In history there was mass killings for "witchcraft" just because it was another religion that was deemed to be in league with the "devil" or "lucifer" however you want to refer to it/him. The reason for this was the ceremonial way they did things was supposedly sorcery however the church also has ceremonies that are similar such as; blessing people; blessing an area with incense.
In short I would like to know why it seems Christianity seems to think it should dictate to people how they should live their lives even though they are not part of that religion?
