Ok, so basically i am called to be like Jonah in Nineveh (though maybe not as a full-time minister or missionary or anything like that) and help people turn from thier evil ways to God's ways so with non-christians that's evangelism. However with Christians i want to help them to really desire holiness. But i dont really want to preach holiness and repentance to Christians 'cause even those who go to the alter may just have worldly sorrow rather than godly sorrow and therefore they would not truly repent. Even those who do repent, it's just a one time thing. I want to help Christians to really desire a godly life and to desire becoming Christ-like so that they dont need to be preached at to repent- i dont know how needed that would be in the church but basically that's what i want to do. I told a guy, who thinks i'm called to missions (a long story as to why), this and he said that helping Christians in this way was basically discipleship and that evangelism+ discipleship= missionary. But i'm wondering if he is just biased in thinking that im called to be a missionary in a foriegn country and so he is equating something to discipleship when he really shouldnt be. So do any of you have any idea if that really is discipleship? I thought discipleship was alot more than that.
