Hey..jst wanted to ask: who's the "disciple that Jesus loved" so constantly referred to in John? Maybe in the other gospels as well but i jst noticed it in John..Thanks*

He doesn't refer to his family directly either, except for John 21 (which some people think was added after his death).
I think he was being modest by not mentioning his name -- and also expressing his gratitude. Remember, he was an old man when he wrote it, looking back on a very special time (it was probably written sometime between the years 80 and 98: see http://www.bible.org/docs/nt/books/joh/joh-intr.htm ).

The writer of John is definetly the beloved disciple. And from context clues, we know that it was John, probably the youngest of the 12 apostles
John is a very complex book, despite its simple greek, it plays on alot of words and has lots of interwoven themes going through it. I encourge you to read commentary about it.
When its all said and done, I plan to have read 350-400 pages of verse by verse commentary from the New Interpreters Bible, volume 9
