He said something about scientists accepting radio carbon dating, argon [something-something], krypton this, and something else that (geology and deep space, I think).

I can't remember them all.

Everything else like ocean salinity, strength of the magnetosphere, and others, they find ways to invalidate.

I can't speak to something about something-something. If the methods can be invalidated, they should be, right? Let's focus in on one. Whatever scientific evidence is strongest that is at odds with an old earth. I would like to know if something like that is being swept under the rug.

With regard to the salinity of the oceans, Lorence Collins - http://www.csun.edu/~vcgeo005/collins.pdf - who happens to be a Christian as well as a scientist, has argued that the accumulation of chloride ions in the oceans would require 3.6 billion years and therefore that the oceans must be at least this old.

Whether modern or not scientists debate evidence not lack of evidence or apologetics. It really is simple. If your pastor claims there are ways for scientists to discuss a topic he needs to produce the evidence for them to discuss, if not there is nothing to discuss.

I thought I gave two good examples: ocean salinity and the earth's magnetosphere.

Seems to me like guessing the age of a person by how much makeup residue is in their skin.

Why would the salinity of oceans be the way to guess the age of a planet? How much ocean salinity does Mars or Venus have? I guess none. Their age is therefore 0?

It should be measured by something much more common in the universe so that it can be tested by comparing to each other.
