Difference between murmuring and dissatisfaction?

Regular posters may have read my various posts about my dissatisfaction with being single. After reading about how God punished the Israelites in the OT for murmuring along the way from Egypt to the Promised Land, I'm beginning to wonder if He makes a distinction between murmuring and just being dissatisfied and frustrated with certain aspects of life. Anyone?

I don't know how much difference there could be except in the relaying of the fact that you are disappointed??? We are to be content with what God has given us, but angry and active against sin and wrongful deeds.

the word murmur is linked to the Hebrew word nirgan, which translates as "whispering, slandering and backbiting."

The biggest difference is the OT peoples, well up to Christ's resurrection, were under the law...we however are under grace and any dissatisfaction merely inhibits how well we can follow God's path for us.

My pastor says "all complaining is murmuring against God". That's a tough one to follow, but I try. When you stop thinking about what you want, that's when God gives it to you! He wants to be your first thought, your ever present help, and when you just trust Him with everything...and say "I'm content in You", then he will give you the desires of your heart. Stay faithful!
