Here's a random fact I have observed in the campus that I call my home...

Most people would think that scrub turkeys are flightless and dwell only on the ground.

Actually, if you know where to look around this university, you can find them roosting in a tree. A tree. My theory is that they've only discovered that they have the ability to live in this specific tree, and the rest, in their turkey minds, are unconquerable. :)

The sight of a scrub turkey climbing a tree is purely awesome - they run up the branch, sortof like a possum, but with random wild flapping of wings.

And the sight of a turkey apparently about to divebomb you as they parachute back down from the tree is about the most powerfully life-scarring image that exists in this world. ^_^

You travel further if you drive around australia in a clockwise direction, than if you drive anti-clockwise.
You'll save a fortune in petrol if you take this into account when circumnavigating the continent :)

Eggs, when left in the refrigerator for approximately two months, come out frozen solid (???) and smelling like a hospital - pleasant, but just a tad too strong.
They also make quite an awesome sound when dropped from the sixth floor onto concrete, hard with just that subtle touch of splatter. When washing it off you create a sort of eggy foam, and lots of it.

Discovering this was quite awesomely fun.
